1979 Kawasaki Z1000 LTD Z900 Classic Project Z1 900 Vintage Barn find

Kawasaki KZ1000 LTD.                                          Bike is now soldThis is being sold as a classic project bike. It will need a certain amount of re-commissioning to make it roadworthy . but hopefully not too much !!. It was made 3/79 as stated on the frame VIN tag. The engine starts on the button (on jump leads . requires a battery) or using the kickstart but sometimes the starter clutch slips a little(not a major job on this engine). The carbs are free sliding and move on the throttle. The clutch operates and the gears select. It has not been stood round for ever like some project bikes. It appears in good solid condition with brakes . suspension and tires (rear is a little squared off ) all seem Ok. The airbox is present. The chrome mudguards are in nice condition. The engine has no visible damage. all head and barrel fins are ok. It is showing 52000 miles on the clocks . less than 1500 miles per year !!. The carbs will need cleaning and then balancing. as it tends to run a bit rough on tickover. The paintwork is only ok. it would benefit from a repaint but thats up to the buyer. The seat is in good condition and the metal base is solid. not rotten like some tend to be. It has the original factory fitted electronic ignition. so no points or condensers to worry about. It still has the original exhausts fitted. which look in nice condition. The bike had a large touring fairing fitted. which has since been removed. It has the original headlight mounting bracket and chrome shell. but will need a glass and bezel. Parts are readily available through ebay and other specialists like Z Power. Z900's and Z1000 A1's are getting expensive now. so this is the cheapest option if you want a 1970's big Zed !!It is not UK registered but is on the NOVA database to aid the registration process. Please study the pics and please understand the bike is 36 years old and that it will need some work. The last picture is what is would have looked similar to when new.
