KAWASAKI Z1000 ZR1000 C7F ABS. 2008. 4526 MILES.

This is my 2008 Kawasaki Z1000 ABS.   This is a genuinely superb machine. in excellent condition. but it has history - please read on. I bought it in September 2010 from ASM Salvage. when it was only 2 years old and had only about 2000 recorded miles.   It had been in an accident and the following parts were badly damaged: the front wheel. the front forks. one front disc. one (clam) side of the front mudguard.   I stripped the bike down and replaced the damaged parts with new or used (but perfect) original Kawasaki components.   The two damaged parts that I did not replace are the petrol tank. which I covered with a leatherette tank bag cover and the radiator which has a minor bend in the bottom.   Please see the pictures. I had proposed to have the tank repaired and resprayed. but I found an immaculate tank cover and I rather liked it and the minor tank damage is neatly covered.   I have taken four pictures of the tank - in two of them I am pressing the material into the dents underneath. the other two are to show how the tank appears normally.   I have also taken a picture of the radiator: I thought about replacing it too. but it works fine and does not leak and the damage is not obvious. so I didn't. The original exhaust cans are perfect - I just don't like them. so I fitted the lightweight (road legal) Arrow cans and I also fitted a tail-tidy to replace the original absurd plastic plate/indicator mount.   This original part is also included in the sale. I was surprised that it was classed as salvage as the damage was so easy and straightforward to repair.   This bike has been properly repaired and it is in really excellent condition.   It rides superbly. I like technical challenge of fixing things and I have always enjoyed bikes. but I realise that I now prefer 4 wheels to 2 and I have not used any of my bikes for a couple of years - this is the first to be advertised. I have just been chatting to a gent who is very interested.   He has just done an HPI check on my bike and confirmed that it was a Category C write off in 2010.
