For Sale is my 1993 UK registered grey import Kawasaki ZZR 400 motorcycle. /p>
It has some faults although it is still usable. but a bit annoying!
Photos and video taken within the last 2 weeks.
So to start with I’ve had this bike since 2008 and used it every year since for commuting and runs out to bike cafes etc.
It has 32k Kmh on the clock. but the engine has been changed. (more than once) the speedo has a MPH conversion sticker so doesn’t light up at night.
So the faults are. it will not rev while its cold. unless you balance your throttle with the choke to get it revving then its ok (may need carbs cleaning/balancing).
It will also not idle very well on choke as it either revs at around 4k revs or it cuts out unless you mess with the choke. I’ve done a short video of the revving and idle fault on you tube

And the 2nd gear has started to jump around 7k revs. not noticeable on my commutes to work as its all town riding. but heavy riding you need to wait until your in 3rd and your off!!
I’ve re-jetted the carbs. piped in the ram air system and shortened the micron pipe and still passes the MOT but sound great.
The bike is over 20 years old and is not in great condition or all original. the fairing has some crack and some repairs as I crashed it in 2010 and again last years. and did this quick paint job as I was going to use it as a track bike until the 2nd gear started playing up.
Ive tried all the hacks on the Internet to remove the Jap-import 112Mph restriction but still only does 112Mph.
The tyres have legal tread (the back was new in 2013) and hardly done any mileage so still like new. it had oil and filter change last year and think I did spark plugs the year before. It also had new front pads last year (still not bedding in yet).
It has steel braided front break lines. short leavers (do have the originals) I changed the fork oil and seals a few years back and changed the steering bearing. The chain and sprocket still look good.
So to summarize: - It’s a 23 year old well thrashed bike. with faults as listed and you may find more. looks ok but poor paint/prep work. Taxed (not sure if it get cancelled on V5 swap) and tested and can be ridden home. I advise a viewing before bidding and test rides will only be allowed with a deposit of your full licence. insurance and cash in case of damages.
Now the boring bit. NO bids from idiots like listed above with less than 10 feedback unless you contact me first. as if you win and don’t pay you will be reported.
I require ?50 not returnable deposit straight after the auction finishes with the balance in cash on collection.
No overseas bids as I will not deliver or have it ready for a collection.
I've uploaded a video of the not reving. nbsp;and wont idle when warm tonight. didnt trying to show the gear jumping as didnt fancy risking my phone falling of. I dont notice the gear jumping on my comute as it only does it around 7000rpm I think.
