KAWASAKI GPZ500 D5 BLACK (1998) - GREAT FOR REPAIR PROJECT OR SPARES

This is a GPZ500S - D5. 1998 (R plate) which we bought in 2009 and has only 17. 82 miles on the clock.

Last year. whilst warming up on the drive. the engine stopped with a clunk resulting in a crack at the top of the cylinder head as shown in the photos. I haven’t had the time to investigate the cause or what would is needed to repair it.   It has sat under a cover in the garage since but I now need the space.

This is a lovely bike. completely standard. and handles very well. The tyres have plenty of tread. the chain and sprockets are in good condition and the original exhausts are a little rusty around the mounts but showed no leaks when she was running last year. There’s even half tank of petrol.

The panels. fairing. belly pan and seat are all in good condition but there was a small dent in the tank. shown in the photos; this was present when we purchased the bike 6 years ago. Unfortunately the rubber mounts on both front indicators have been damaged whilst stored in the garage over the last year.

From looking on eBay you could get replacement cylinder head or engine making for an easy project and a very low-priced GPZ500S-D5.

Keys. logbook and some past MOTs are present.   It is not currently taxed or MOT’d and is SORN.

Bike is collection only from Lymington. Hampshire (SO41) and will have to be picked up by trailer / van within 7 days of end of auction.
