Description

Up for sale is a very early vin prototype Kawasaki H2 750 triple. The bike comes with a California "pink slip" which should be suitable for export. you be the final judge from the photo. This bike should probably be in a museum detailing early Kawasaki history instead of my heated garage. This bike was likely produced in the first few days of production in 1971 for the 1972 model year. This is a matching number bike. frame and engine are 25 digits apart. The first 2600 +/- or so Kawasaki triples were considered early prototype bikes. They had different parts on them such as plastic headlight buckets and carburetors and were being tested out on the market. These bikes are highly sought after by collectors. This bike was found about 6-7 years ago in a carport under a tarp. It sat in my shop for about 2 years. At first I was going to do a full restoration on the bike but I decided that due to its rarity I would disassemble the bike. clean it and put it back together. Everything on the bike is original to the bike as I found it with the exception of the mirrors which I replaced with NOS Kawasaki mirrors and some of the rubber bits. cables/hoses and the turn signals. they were missing so I replaced with a new aftermarket set from Z1 parts. The bike was taken apart at which time I had the frame and swingarm repainted along with the rear inner fender. The frame had a crack on it as is common with the early vin bikes and was repaired before painting. The tins were a lime green color so I had them repainted the proper 1972 blue using Rick Brett decals that were cleared over. The inside of the tank is clean. The seat is fantastic and original to the bike. The pipes are original and in good condition. The chrome on the bike is in very good condition. I polished the engine covers. The original tool kit is in the tail cowl as shown. The motor was not rebuilt. I have never had this bike running since I have owned it and believe the reason the bike was parked so many years ago was due to a lazy kick start lever. you have to manually pull it back up after kicking the motor over. This is a guess so no guarantees. If I were keeping it I would rebuild the motor and be done with it. I did not finish the bike. life got in the way so the bike is not running and the electrical needs to be buttoned up inside the headlight bucket. This bike is an investment and has great historical significance to vintage motorcycling. I own 3 of these early bikes and this is the lowest vin of all of them. I will miss it. Keep in mind that in late 2014 a low vin Z1 900 sold for $63. 00 USD. I am NOT setting the reserve anywhere near this number. it will be very reasonable so bid to win. I require a $500 deposit at auction end to hold the bike and the balance to be paid by bank wire transfer within 7 days or the bike will be relisted and sold again. I am not a shipper so I will not ship the bike. Shipping arrangements and all associated costs are at buyer expense. The Pink slip will be sent with he bike when the shipping agent collects. If you want it sent separately you pay the FedEx fees. usually around $35 for domestic. more for international. Please ask any questions you have before the auction ends. I am happy to help any way I can. I would like the bike to be collected within a few weeks after sale. If you need more time please contact me so we can come to an agreement before the sale ends. Thank you and good luck.
