1982 Kawasaki KZ1000 P1 Police

This is my 1982 Kawasaki KZ1000-P1 Police package motorcycle. Title is clear and in my name. It shows 12, 97 miles which is obviously not accurate. It's service and prior history is unknown. To assess it's condition I have pulled the valve cover, replaced the gasket and checked the valve adjustment. They were in spec but near the bottom of their range. I would expect to recheck them in a few thousand miles. The timing marks were correctly aligned. I replaced the exhaust header gaskets and dropped the pan to clean the pan to clean the sump. The sump looked ok. I also replaced the alternator rotor with a new one from Kawasaki. The old rotor had a loose magnet. (The part alone lists for over $350). Top end compression is 149, 143, 140 and 142lbs, and that's good. The carbs were rebuilt and synched by a professional shop for the previous owner. It has an aftermarket cam-chain tensioner and pods. Exhaust is stock. It starts, runs and drives fine, and everything appears to work but it is likely all for naught, as it appears to me that a bearing in the bottom end is singing. Listen to the video and judge for yourself. . The previous owner stated the bike always sounded like that and the noise is not getting worse, (he rode it that way too!) but I do not recommend riding it in this condition and it is priced accordingly. It is a project bike. Expect to fix it, likely split the cases or part it out. I will consider ending the auction early but don't bother to lowball me. I have another KZ1000 police and these have special police parts. (no siren or lights though). Selling here with no reserve. Thank you for looking.
