As a Kawasaki dealer from 1978 to 2007 I sold this bike brand new in 1980 to a gentleman who passed away about 8 years later. His son has kept the bike licensed maintained and in driving condition ever since and has ridden the bike some each year. With only 13513 miles it is in great shape. It has almost new Dunlop touring tires battery and windshield. I got the bike when the son traded it in at myformer dealership earlier this year.
All Kawasaki KZ1300s are1300cc 6 cylinder water-cooled shaft-drive motorcycles. This is the rare factory Touring model which was equipped out of the crate with fairing bags trunk and unique "bucket" style passenger seat all original equipment from the factory. This model was made for only one year and is the rarest of theKawasaki KZ1300 models especially in good original unmodified condition. It has one dimple in the gas tank where the rider's right knee would be. It is not very noticeable undersome conditions butdepending onlighting and viewing angles itcan bemore noticeable. See thephotos and judge for yourself. That's the worst thing there is about the bike. It is all original (except tires battery and windshield) and the paint is all original with only normal small scratches here and there as would be expected of a bike of this age. There is no rust in the tank or other problems commonly associated with older bikes that have been stored for years because this bike has always been kept in riding condition and was ridden semi-regularly. Everything works but the turn signal switch probably needs to be cleaned out. The signals work but you have to keep the switch manually pressed in the direction you want to turn. As soon as you let go of it the switch returns to the center position and the signals stop blinking. (Harley Davidson's turn signals are actually designed this way to keep you from accidentally driving down the road with a signal flashing.) Otherwise I don't know of anything wrong with this bike. This is a rare model made more desireable by the fact that it is also a low-mileage well-maintained bike. I would like to see it go to a good home with an owner who will appreciate the way this father and son took care of their motorcycle for all these years. Feel free to ask any questions. I have the bike for sale locally as well so I reserve the right to end this listing early if the bike sells. Thanks for looking! I have clean and clear Texas title in my name. This is a short 3-day auction with no reserve beyond the opening bid price so Buy It Now or bid quickly and often before it's gone!
