Description

I built this 1992 Zephyr to prove that the only bad thing about a Zephyr was its poorly chosen name. I loved how the 1973 Z1 900 looked and wondered how Kawasaki managed to miss the mark (styling wise) on the 550 and 750 Zephyr's. I decided to re-imagine the Zephyr in homage of the original Z1. The bike features a modified ZR7 4 into 1 exhaust with a custom modified Yoshimura canister which is freshly repacked. A tri-beam front headlight, odified front fender, olished wheel lips, olished engine cases, olished swing arm, olished bar ends, olished grab rail, olished valve cover, nd polished triple clamps. The black paint is PPG and the gold is House of Kolor all with three coats of clear. Spraying was done in a professional spray booth. I happened to have a 73 root beer and orange Z1 tank which I used as a guide when hand laying my tape lines. I custom made the foot peg brackets on a Bridgeport mill.
This motorcycle was completely disassembled and every piece was reworked with the aim of creating a show bike. The donor engine came out a bike with 10,xxx miles on it.
New starter clutch. New valve cover gasket. New exhaust collars, hims, nd hardware. All emblems are OEM and brand new. New seat cover. New petcock. Rebuilt carburetors. New chain. New Continental ContiMOTION tires front and rear. 120/60 front and 160 rear.
The bike runs and drives. I built this bike to be a show bike but it was done with everyday riding in mind. I entered it in a local vintage Japanese show and had a lot of interest and tons of compliments. The bike is even nicer than the pictures can convey. I did not build this bike to sell. I built it for me. I took my time and did things right. I am a dealer trained mechanic and have been working on motorcycles for over 15 years. I am selling this bike so I can free up cash to finish a 1969 Chevy C10 hot rod project (I realize this is the second biggest mistake one can make aside from boat ownership.)
This is a sweet bike that still has room for your own personalization. I can guarantee people will walk right past the $40,000 ordered from a catalog Harley's to come talk to you about this bike.
You are responsible for shipping. Last time I sold a bike on eBay, he new owner flew out and rode it from Minnesota to North Carolina (so you know I'm building reliable bikes.) If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
