Up for auction is this straight, lean, nd beautiful 1972 Kawasaki H2 750. I am the second owner, aving purchased the bike from the original owner in 2007.
The original owner had the bike completely restored in 1999. I have a copy of the work order that states: Strip completely, olish, ead-blast, e-plate, e-chrome, owder coat, e-paint, nstall Barnett clutch and new tires (good brand). Make as close to new as possible. The motor was gone through and bored 0.040 over, rankshaft rebuilt etc. All chrome parts were evaluated and either polished out, e-chromed, r replaced. New paint and decals were applied. The frame was blasted and painted. All rubber parts, ll cables, nd mostsmall fasteners were replaced. So the bike was 99.9% when I purchased it. My plan was to make it 100%. (In truth, he bike needed nothing, ut I wanted to add something to it to make it mine. You know how it is!) I parked it in my garage and there it has sat for the past eight years. I managed to accumulate a few parts and accessories but could never seem to find the time to put it all together. Now that Ifinally have time to work on the bike, ealth problems necessitate that I sell it. “Fate, t seems, s not without a sense of irony.” So here is the deal: The paint is close to perfect with the exception of a couple of tiny chips as shown in the photos. No clear coat, owever. Also a scuff mark on the frame near the petcock location. Exhaust pipes are excellent but foronetiny dimpleas shown in the photo. Chrome is gorgeous. The battery is long dead, ut a brand new battery is included in the auction. The front brake began leaking fluid and will likely need to be rebuilt. The fuel tank developed some internal rust while sitting around. I had the tank professionally repaired at Fuel Tank Services. ( www.fueltankservices.com ) George took care of business and delivered a rust free, ermanentlylined fuel tank. The fuel petcock was removed for the tank repair and should be rebuilt A complete rebuild kit with diaphragm is included. I last started the bike up several years ago and discovered that the center cylinder and the right hand cylinder were both fouling their spark plugs. Cause to be determined. The carbs will need to be rebuilt. Carburetor rebuild kits, s well as brand new Mikuni brass floats are included in this auction.I replaced a leaking O-ring on themain oilfeed line at the oil tank.
