Description

1985 Kawasaki ZN1300 Voyager 6-Cylinder Touring

The Good

This big cruiser runs really good, specially for a 30 year old bike. The in-line six cylinder accelerates fantastic, espite the weight of the bike. It doesn't look bad, xcept for a few areas where there are minor nicks, cratches and wear. Most of the gadgets work: Stereo (although it probably needs better speakers), B, ir-pump and shocks, rip computer, tc. It has a near new front tire and a clear title. It rides like a couch down the highway, ery comfortable.

The Bad

The "low oil" indicator comes on, ven when the oil level is full. After riding a while, t goes off. The compass doesn't work, think the sensor on the front fender is bad. The clear coat is coming apart on the paint on the saddle bags (see pictures). The front fork seals leak a little bit. The clutch may need adjusting, thought I felt it slip one time going up a hill full throttle on a hot day. I downshifted and rode home with no further problem. I haven't been able to duplicate it since, ut just letting you know. Radio reception is poor, peakers can't take full volume or they distort. Although the rear tire has tread on it, would recommend replacing it, I know it's pretty old and dry.

I never tried a cassette, o I don't know if the player works or not. I have listened to the CB, but not attempted to talk to others with it. The microphone is in the factory helmet which doesn't fit me (I have a fat head). Both original helmets are included with the bike. I also have not tried the intercom system, hich is tied into the CB. This bike has a lot of buttons and knobs, t was state-of-the art in 1985. Heck, here's even a button to aim the headlight! The odometer shows 37K, ut the gauge cluster has been replaced so I don't know what the actual miles are.
