1982 Kawasaki KZ1100D Spectre - Rare Bike

Thislisting is for a project bike that we simply do not have time to finish. Too many projects and priority customer work to contend with right now.
This is a 1982 Kawasaki KZ1100D Spectre which is a pretty rare find. All of the hard work has been done and the bike is complete right on down to the badging. It only has 19000 miles and it also has a clean title. When we acquired the bike the shifter seal was leaking so it and the bevel case gasket has been replaced. Also the final drive pinion seal was leaking so we replaced that as well and changed the fluid. The bike also has had an oil/filter change as well as new plugs and wires.
We've also had the tins re-painted in the factory colors of black and burgundy with the gold pinstripe. To keep it looking good there is a layer of clearcoat over the paint and pinstripe. To be finished the bike needs very little. It will need carburetors and likely fork seals as it has been sitting a while. That should pretty much be it mechanically. The bike starts and runs. Due to needing carburetors it has an erratic idle.
Cosmetics: The seat and seat pan is in great shape but will need a new cover. As can be seen in the photos, he odometer glass is cracked. We have an extra one that goes with the bike (also shown in the pictures) that has a single crack. The glass cracking was a problem with the KZ1100 and could be replaced by drilling off the rivet heads to open the odometer case. After that it would just need a detailed cleaning and any touch up to the frame paint you may want to do.
This is a great candidate for full restoration and would love to see it go to someone who would do that and care for it. Not many of these around anymore.Thank you for looking and God Bless.
