2006 Kawasaki KLX Dual Sport - Street Legal & Ready for Dirt Riding!

Original owner bike in excellent condition. Purchased from Jersey Shore Powersports in Middletown NJ in July of 2006. Used primary on soft sand trails in south Jersey.
About the stock bike - It may be dressed in the same Kawasaki Lime Green as its sibling KLX300R off-road speedster, ut the (then) all-new KLX250 with electric start finds itself equally at home on the pavement as it will when the riding terrain calls for enduro-like performance. Aggressively styled in the same manner as Kawasaki’s KX™ motocross equipment, he KLX250 features a lightweight engine with a wide powerband, nd a lightweight, high-tensile steel perimeter frame.
Features and upgrades included:
Increased Horsepower over stock - Carburetor performance improved with replacement of Main Jet to #40 and Pilot Jet to #125 and needle changed to N1TC. Air intake increased with addition of KDX snorkel high-flow model and K&N Air Filter. Air outflow increased with addition of Big Gun EVOx quiet core exhaust pipe & exhaust heat shield. Over-sized rear crankcase vent was added for better performance.
Increased Torque over stock - Torque ratio increased for better pulling with replacement of stock rear wheel sprocket to Sidewinder Tri-Moly 49 tooth rear sprocket and competition low stretch Krause Racing 520 sealed o-ring chain.
Suspension, ender and light upgrades - 2006 models are factory set with full 11 inches of travel - front and back (vs 10 inches available today). Front fork springs are factory set for 150 lb rider. The front fork springs were upgraded to motopro .44 kg to ride correctly with a rider up to 195 lbs. Elongated rear fender was upgraded to a standard dirt bike fender for better clearance. A strobe brake lighting unit was added to the rear brake light and a front strobe was added to the front light for better rider visibility by cars during road use. The front light is also protected by a clear plexiglass cover to keep the bulb housing safe from kicked up rocks etc.
Steering and control upgrades - Stock handlebar replaced with Renthal 7/8'' RC High Handlebars attached to the front forks with a 2" ROXZ handlebar riser for better control when standing up out of the saddle. Progrip 793 grips are steel wired in place to eliminate slippage and stock mirrors were replaced with Sicass racing metal pivot mirrors that can be twisted down during trail riding and moved back into position for street riding. Clutch and Brake levers (and hands) are protected by Tusk D-Flex hand guards. IMS pro-series foot pegs were added for better ride stabilization when standing up out of the saddle.
Wheel upgrades: For trail riding where tire pressures are lowered, im locks were added front and back to protect the tires under low PSI. Tires are brand new, ggressive dirt bike tires and DOT approved. Front tire is 80/100 Pirelli Scorpion XC and the rear tire is a 120/100 Kenda K760 Trackmaster II.
Other upgrades and accessories - Stock metal gas tank was upgraded to 2.6 gallon Clark plastic tank for increased distance in the woods. An aluminum skid plate was added to protect the engine from rocks and stumps. A Moose trail bag was added to the rear fender and holds tools and a Slime air compressor that works off the engine / battery and air gauge to ensure easy inflation when it's time to move from the trails to the road. Additionally, he handlebars also have a holder and power supply (from the battery) for a Garmin GPS map60Cx. (PLEASE NOTE: The Garmin GPS map60Cx unit is not included in this sale). Slime air compressor, ool kit, ocket set and battery trickle-charger are all included.
