This Motorbike started as a clean wellmaintained1987 ninja. A full fairing cycle world bike of the year. Sport bike of its time.In stock form these bikes are rated 110 horsepower and have a 6 speed gearbox. This bike has been rejetted and moved to pod filters and a bit more free flowing exhaust. Im not going to stab in the dark at current horsepower, ut it is over 110 at this point. The rear sprocket was at 47 teeth and has been replaced with a 60 tooth. Needless to say, t's peppy. A lot. This probably knocked 25 mph off the top speed, hich this bike wont miss, ut It really makes it a blast to ride in all gears now.
Motor and Transmission-Stock, odified carbs, odified exhaust 4 into 1 into 2. mild sound, creams a bit more on the gas, ounds healthy and clean. 100hp plus. Six speed. Aluminum Oil cooler located in rear under rear rack.
Frame-The lower cradle is factory, he upper half is hand make from .120 wall tube, eat and rear rack are from steel plate.
Wheels and TiresThe are three spoke wheels from a midninetiesNinja. The wheel discs covering them were machined one off.The Tires are 150/70-17 rear and 130/80-17 front. They do very well on street and highway, nd also do well off road, ravel, rass, and.
Tank-The Gas tank is a NOS Benelli mohave tank modified. Added metal to rear of tank to complete the dome shape to end, nd added the manlier gas caparrangement. it has strap buckles at cap and rear if you wish to strap a bag to tank. The is also a phone mount as the phone is used for a speedometer as well, like theUlysses app, how in pictures. also nice for onboard gps.
Electrics-The electric are done by hand, rom scratch. All connections soldered. Relays used for each headlight, nd ignition, ndalternator. There are three main fuses in weather tight containers. Digital volt gauge and usb charge ports on Bars. This allows endless use of the phone apps while riding, r just charging phone or device. I like voltage, ts important. Fan for radiator is automatically controlled with engine temp as from factory. Battery is a Fiberglass Matt AGM 180 amp unit.
Lighting-Projector Lights. Low watt running light in low beam on at all times, ow beam (top light) and High beam (lower light) areindependently controlled by the lite rocker switches on bars in middle. They are bright.
Behavior-It starts on first revolution normally, uns smoothly from idle up through rpms, o flat spots. It is basically set on Kill. It can be ridden very much normally and is well behaved, ut crack the throttle a bit and youre snappin thru gears. Crack the throttle a good bit, ront wheels up or youre spinning the wheel. Its the funnest bike I have ridden, ver. I dont want to sell this one. Its that fun and dependable.
Brakes-Dual piston, ual caliper/disc in front, ingle disc in Rear. New Pads.
Controls-Factory Kawasaki levers andreservoirs and masters front and rear.. Quick turn throttle. Italian Made foot pegs and controls.
Paint-Frame, tch primed, rethane primed and sealed, he BlackUrethane, coats.Wheel disc, emi Black Powder coat.Tank, reen and black graphics done in urethane, hen cleared in 3 coats of gloss urethane, hen wetsanded smooth so lines in graphics are not felt, he finally 3 coats ofUrethaneVelvet Clear. Matt finish.
Seat-Yes, ts actually very comfortable, nd shapes nicely to the body. It also hold you on the bike, hich helps here. It has 3/4" dense padding and heavy weight veggytan leather, and shaped wet, nd stained in four colors and distressed.
Suspension-Mid Nineties Ninja fork tubes in front, djustable rate. AircontrolledMonoshock in Rear as was factory on this bike and performs well.
Its a solid bike, ade to ride. Like ride ride, or real. Not aconcocted oddball bike for photos and shows.
