Description

I said I'd never sell this bike, t's so perfect that I thought I'd keep it forever. But...here it is for sale. This is a very well cared for and much loved motorcycle with a long list of upgrades and additions to make it the ultimate on and off road bike, t least for me! I am a female rider, ver 50 and 5'6". I am not an aggressive off-road rider, ut I did ride this bike often at Croom or on dual sport club rides. I loved the bike when it was stock, ut I wanted more power than it was born with so I had a lot of upgrades done. Now I'm pretty sure I don't want to ride off-road any longer, t least until my grandsons are ready in a few years, o I'm going to get a different kind of bike.

This bike is a 2009 Kawasaki KLX250, riginally green, ut I didn't like it green so I started buying it red plastics one piece at a time. Then I added a wrap to make it really colorful, hich has been removed. The plastics are only in okay condition, hat's the only thing about the bike that isn't perfect.

I started the upgrades by having a big bore kit installed by a professional mechanic. The 351cc Big Bore kit from B & B Cycle ($535) completely up-sizes the engine and adds a ton more power. The upsized cylinder with new piston, ings and an air blockoff system adds power and torque. Especially since I also had the TM 33/34 Mikuni flat slide pumper carb ($400) installed to give lots more juice, nd the FMF Q4 aluminum exhaust ($350) to complete the performance package. Take a look at the dyno chart, ou can see that this set of upgrades adds a lot more potential power and torque, nd this chart was with only the big bore kit installed. The total cost for that set of goodies was over $1500 all installed professionally.

Renthal handlebars ($110) brought the grips up and out for more control. Acerbis Rally Pro handguards ($89) with full hand shield over aluminum frames add protection for your hands and the levers. I installed the HappyTrail.com Utah aluminum skid plate ($120) plate for total protection down under and SW Motech aluminum radiator guards ($110.) No matter how hard you ride, ou'll know it's protected and armored as much as possible. Dogbone lowering links ($89) brought the seat height down about an inch, aking it a better fit for me. The oversized steel luggage rack on the back ($89) is a nice upgrade and gives a strong handle if you need to lift or tie down the bike. All of this protection also doesn't come cheap, 've put over $700 into this set of stuff!

The foot pegs are also custom widened with welded steel so you can stand up for long periods in comfort and stability. The shift lever is a longer than stock one to make it easier to shift, ven in boots. I added an on/off toggle switch to the headlight so you can eliminate the power drain if you are riding all day off road. Not that power is a problem, specially with a brand new sealed battery that I just installed in September.

I've ridden this bike with the Dixie Dual Sport group on several of their club rides. It meets their strict noise level testing and all forest spark arrestor requirements. I've also had all of the breather hoses routed up to make it more suited to off road riding in case there might be standing water, ust to be safe. It is currently wearing pretty aggressive off-road tires, ot that I'm an aggressive rider, ut because it made it handle very well in the sandy conditions we usually ran into here in Central Florida. The front is a MX Sand Snake, ot actually DOT approved though I've ridden with it on the road. It really makes it track and handle well in Florida off road conditions. The rear is a Kenda TrackMaster that is DOT approved but definitely a full knobby tire. Both of these tires are in pretty good but not at all new condition.

I will also include a brand new set of more street suited tires that I have never even installed. I just bought them, f you want them to go along with the ones that are on it. They are more like an 80% road, 0% offroad tire. The bike also has super heavy duty tubes installed, ith Dyna Beads dynamic balancing. I've always used full synthetic oil, msoil 20/50w, nd I am a fanatic about oil changes. It's never gone more than 1000 miles without an oil change, ot that it needed it that often, ust because I like doing it I guess.

I run a motorcycle training school for the State, nd I have professional mechanics who work for me. My own bike ends up getting lots of attention and a super high level of care. I bought this bike in 2009 when it had only 300 miles on it, o almost all of its miles have been mine. I'm not exactly a little old lady but it is safe to say it's been ridden conservatively by a mature female rider and has not ever been abused. I have the title clear and in hand.

If you have questions or you are interested in my bike, all or email me and I'll tell you anything you need to know. There isn't anything wrong with this bike, t's a great ride on or off road. It's just time for me to get something different now.
