This is a very nice bike and it is not for a young or inexperienced rider - it's fast! I bought the bike a few years ago with low miles but it had been in a barn and not well taken care of while resting. I repainted the bike (original color), ew seat cover, ew battery, ew Dunlop tires, ew 4-in-1 Kerker pipe, ew decals, ebuilt carbs, olished cases and I changed the turn signals and mirrors with new aftermarket items. I then took the bike to my friend who was a Harley Davidson drag racer and he modified the factory air intake box to allow more air to the carbs. He then had the bike on a dino. for several days getting the carbs adjusted to "his" perfection. I haven't ridden the bike in over a year so the carbs "may" need to be cleaned, ut then again I drained the fuel so they are probably OK.
I have the original Title but it is not "Clear" and in my name; and I do have a Lein Release from the original bank loan. In fact, t's kind of messed up as the original owner passed away, is son sold it to a dealership, hey sold it to another individual, ho sold it to the guy I bought it from. No one ever got the Title in their name. The Missouri DMV told me it can be fixed but I haven't looked into it any deeper.
Also, have some original parts that will go with the bike including the turn signals, irrors, enter kick stand, tc. I removed the center kick stand because it was ugly and to reduce weight.
It's a blast to ride, t looks good and everything works as it should!
I understand these bikes are rare as 1979 was the same year Kawasaki came out with the 1300 and everyone was buying it rather than the KZ 1000. I have also been told, t the time this was the fastest production motorcycle ever made and it would do 12 second quarters. I'm not an expert, ut I like the bike!
Please check out my other listings, 'm cleaning out my garage. LOL
