2002 Kawasaki KX/KDX500

For your consideration is this clean, ne of a kind 2002 Kawasaki KX500/KDX500 conversion.

Call me crazy (just don’t call me slow) but the concept for this project was if a KDX200/220 was arguably the greatest trail bike ever made wouldn’t a KDX500 be even better?

This frame up rebuild had the following repairs/upgrades within the last 20 miles.

• Stripped to the frame and Powder Coated.

• New Wiseco Forged Performance Piston and Rings. The recommended brake-in procedure was followed to the letter.

• New OEM Cylinder (not a relining).

• The Power Valve was cleaned and all new seals and gaskets were used.

• New OEM Reed Valves.

• New K&N Air Filter.

• New Heavy Duty Radiator’s.

• Properly Jetted by a seasoned pro tuner and former racer (Me) with zero flat spots from idle to WOT.

• New Vapor Trail Tech Computer.

• New Barnett Dirt Digger Clutch with Magura Hydraulic Master & Slave Cylinder.

• New Water Pump and All Side Cover Seals.

• New Lighting Coil and Steeley Flywheel Weight.

• New O Ring Chain and Steel Sprockets.

• New Seat Foam & Cover.

• New Baja Designs Enduro Lighting Kit with LED Bulb Upgrade.

• New FMF Gnarly Woods Pipe & Silencer.

• New Works Connection Frame Guards.

• Skid Plate not installed but included.

• The Forks & Shock was Re-Valved and Sprung for a 175Lb Rider.

• New Front & Rear Wheel Bearings.

• New brake Pads Front and Rear.

• New Swingarm, ockerarm and Shock Bearings.

• New Renthal Fat Bars and Cycra Pro Bend Hand Guards.

• New Promotion Billet Kickstand.

Although the tuning could be considered mild and well suited for trial riding please be aware this is a 65 Horsepower 212LB bike and it will hurt you if you are inexperienced or don’t respect it.
