Description

This is a brand NEW 1981 KZ750 E2! Never registered or titled. Manufacturer's Statement of Origin direct from Kawasaki USA. This is a bike that I bought back in 1995 when I used to work at Kawasaki Motors in California. It was a brand new KZ750 that had been sitting in a warehouse for years, ever sold. I made an offer on it and it was mine! It was sitting on the original wooden pallet, ut with the top removed. So lets get to the bad stuff first!. Someone, have no idea wh, macked the back of the bike (I suspect a forklift) and tweaked the rear subrame rails, nd the right side exhaust/muffler combo. Luckily none of the rear bodywork was mounted, o only the rails were damaged.I sent detailed photos to Johnnys Wheel and Frame repair in Los Angeles.(They are top of the line!) They said it was very fixable, nd would be almost impossible to detect. They quoted me $400.00, eady to go. Keep in mind that the rear fender, ilver tailpiece, nd tail light will completely enclose the two frame rails as well. Also, he right muffler was damaged, o I "swapped" it to another KZ750 that was being auctioned off anyway. The pipe from that bike goes with this bike now. The pipe (see photo) is in fact straight and ding free, ut will need RE-CHROMING to match the left (new) pipe! The front master cylinder will need to be re-painted (photo), nd the tape graphic on the front fender is slightly damaged as well. It is NOT clearcoted, suspect a bit of striping tape or any pin-striper could repair that in five minutes. So there, confessed!
I picked up the bike at Kawasaki some time ago, ounted the front fender, heel, nd loaded it in my Van and pushed into my living room where it has been ever since. (Along with a dozen other bikes!)
Even with these repairs, magine only having to deal with this stuff compared to a comprehensive resto!!!!!
Plus, his one is BRAND NEW, nd damn pretty. These were the last KZ's before the switch to the GPZ's, nd the silver is both quite rare, nd beautiful.
