Description

The Holy Grail of early super bikes? The original 'widow maker'? I don't need to be too hyperbolic as, f you're already looking at this page, ou no doubt know about the milestone Triple H1: The Fastest Production Bike in the World in its day... Here we have what seems to be an extremely original very early H1. I bought a vintage Citroen DS in Los Angeles recently and this bike was sitting beside the car. The DS last ran in 1977 and it seems this bike last saw the street in 1979 (note that the wonderful 'black plate' had to be 'forfeited' to the DMV to get it registered! Damn... but luckily I took a photo at least). Seems that the front brake was changed out to a disc, aybe the forks, ront fender (?) but as far as I can tell everything else seems original to the bike. Ask as many questions as you'd like. I have not touched it in any way except I kicked the engine over and it seems like nice compression -- not seized. But no warranty, tc implied in any way... it needs an expert's involvement but, s a guy that 'resurrects' (not restore) old cars, t does seem like a strong candidate to NOT be restored, ust left in its original state. The original keys are with it and, hile I have nothing to confirm the mileage, bet it's a true 11,000 given it was stored away in 1979. There was another bike in the garage that I got as well... a 1979 Yamaha SR 500 with just 3,000 miles which I assume he bought and then stopped using the H1. I can store the bike for just a few weeks after the auction ends and, fter that, t'll be $10 a day up to 30 days then it has to be gone. It's in Kirkland, ust on the other side of Seattle. I can help load it up if necessary. I have clear Washington State title in my name. It's a very special motorcycle waiting for the right person to 'bring it back to life'.
