I have here an authentic barn-find 1974 Kawasaki 500 Mach III two-stroke motorcycle. You see a couple of pics of her in the barn, nd then the rest after I cleaned her up. The older gentleman I got it from said it has been parked in that one spot since 1982, nd it sure looked it.
He said his nephew (or cousin, forget) had hocked the bike to him all those years ago, nd that the nephew had just recently died, o he decided to sell her. The last tag on her was an Arkansas tag of 1978. The odometer shows it just going into 3,000 miles, ut who knows what is really on the bike? The rear sprocket show no mechanical wear to speak of, o that may be the real miles.......no telling.
The bike has NO TITLE, nd is being sold with two bills of sale only. I will give you a copy of the bill of sale from the fella I got it from, nd give you another from me to you. The Ebay selector would not offer a selection of 'no title' on the icon, o I just punched in 'clear'. But, his is a 'Bill of Sale' auction only.
I am very far from real knowledgeable with these particular bikes. So, will offer up some observations. If I am incorrect or deficient somehow in my description, eel very free to contact me to get me lined out.
I would estimate it to be a good candidate for a restoration of one sort or another. It appears to me to just about be all there and original, xcept for a missing LHS cover, nd the throttle sleeve.
Obviously, he has some corrosion issues. The seat pan is very badly corroded all the way around its base rim. The frame looks to me to be in very good physical condition, ut also has some surface corrosion in places. The engine turns over and has good compression. The transmission goes through all it's gears. The clutch will pull, ut is very stiff. All the rubber on the engine intake side needs replaced. The front of the engine has a lot of caked on dirt and oil just under the exhaust outlets. I don't know what may have caused that.........I think maybe the center cylinder had a bad exhaust leak by the looks of it. You see in the pics evidence of that.
The electrics appears to be all there, xcept for a battery of course. The electrics need gone through of course.
The tank is rusty on the inside, ut does not leak. I put some diesel/motor oil mix in it and washed it around to try and slow the rust down, nd seen it did not leak then. The is a small dent on the RHS near the front. It is pictured. It is about 3 inches across, nd maybe 3/4 of an inch deep. It is pictured. The paint on the tank is pretty fair, ut has a bit of corrosion in a few small spots. I did not take the tank off, o I don't know what it looks like underneath.
The seat cover is all there, nd the foam feels fine underneath........but like I say, he seat pan is a mess.
The front brake is in-op. The rear one works.
The VIN # on the frame is H1F-19031. The engine number is KAE89089.
The bike rolls just fine, ut of course does not run. Obviously, t needs a complete going through and restoration.
The pipes/mufflers are in pretty good shape, xcept the RHS lower one appears to have been scrapped plenty on hard turns. It is dented in and flattened, ut still appears intact. There is a picture of that.
Check out the pics carefully. I want you to know EXACTLY what you are getting and be very happy with your purchase. Check out my feedback. I will treat you right.
It has some Kawasaki tools with it, ut I did not get a pic of them. The tool pouch is missing.
It has one key with it, hich turns the ignition switch just fine.
NO WARRANTY of any kind is provided for. The bike is completely un-roadworthy as it is and needs a restoration.
I would prefer a local pick-up, ut am willing to ship world-wide IF you take care of all cost, ake all the arrangements, ncur all the associated cost, nd incur all the risk. It can be picked up here by a shipper, r I am willing to haul it to Fort Smith, rkansas to a shipper for a $75 fee. My hometown is about 40 miles SE of Fort Smith, rkansas.
Please feel VERY free to ask me any questions. Please get complete clarification before bidding. I would be happy to speak to you by phone if you like. You are welcome to come and look at her before bidding.
I will accept a check or money order (with time to clear), r cash (only) at time of pick-up. No other methods accepted. I need a $500 deposit via PayPal within 48 hours of auction close. I expect the remaining payment within 7 days of auctions close. I will accept no 'Buy it Now' offers. This is a 7 day auction and has no reserve, ith a starting bid of $2,000.
NO BIDS accepted from zero feedback purchasers. And no bids accepted from folks that have a poor feedback rating as far as purchase payment history.
Thank you very much for looking and bidding!!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!
