Kawasaki KLV1000 (Suzuki Vstrom DL1000)

2004 KLV 1000. owned this bike the last 4 and 1/2 years.

Its been an absolutely great bike. i've toured 15 different countries most of them two or three times. never let me down.

Lots of add on to make this a better touring bike.

Centrestand. mirror extenders. Power commander. engine bars (powder coated recently). handguard extenders. pannier racks for Givi panniers (powder coated recently). Venom exhausts. Madstad screen bracket. headlight protectors. footpeg lowering kit. stainless oil cooler and radiator covers. 12v socket in fairing. 20mm lower seat. 1" handlebar risers.

That lot cost over a grand but it does make it a better bike. especially the power commander.

Chain and sprockets changed last year. 16 tooth front sprocket to liven it up a bit. DID chain.

New gel battery 5 months ago.

Michelin Anakee 3 tyres with an easy 60% tread left on them.

I am happy to remove some of the parts and lower the asking price but as it is its got everythhing you need to make it comfy and safe on a long tour.

Not in pristine condition. but I service my bikes regularly. oil and filter every 3000 miles. unless i've been away on it then i've done it as soon as i've got back. 4000 at the most.

Its been a workhorse rather than a pampered toy. not ridden in the winter though.

Only selling as i've bought something newer. not sure its any better than this though!!

I have a lockable Touratech satnav bracket and Tomtom rider with full european mapping attached to the bike but not included. I will sell this for £150. the bracket alone is £80 new.

I bought this with 3000 mile on and it still runs the same today. uses no oil between services.

Had some cosmetic panel damage when I got it. dropped staionary left hand side. could only get a Suzuki panel as a replacement so I had the whole lot sprayed green. nice colour for an adventure bike I thought.

Givi top box adaptor will be removed as I need it for my box. I have reversed the brackets on this and had it powder coated as it was too far forward to be comfortable for a pillion. so if you need it and bring me a replacement i'll leave it on.

Will be sorry to see it go. but bought a replacement. not sure its any better than this but done it now so this needs to go on some more adventures with somebody else. :)

Just fitted new brake pads front and rear. zero miles on them.
