This bike is in STANDARD CONDITION.
I purchased it as a fun project bike to strip down and restore with my son and a friend. I purchased the bike in February of this year. I was lucky to find it in the sticks and the story goes that it was first purchased by a lady who hardly rode it for most of its life. Then another chap saw it at her place while working there. asked if it was for sale. purchased it then sold it on to the man I bought it from who had it for a year. As it happens none of them actually rode it very far including myself who has only ridden it around the housing estates to test its operation. I have taken it up and down the gear box with no issues at all. The bike pulls very well in each gear and sound great as all two strokes do. We have taken it to the MOT station on a trailer as it has no tax or insurance.
The Tax is £16. 00 for 12 months (I think)
This bike is in very good condition with only surface rust dots to the chrome work as would expect for a 28 year old bike.
The bike starts and rides very well and passed the MOT with only an adjustment to the headlamp.
All the original parts are intact with only the tool kit and a few rubber panel gaskets missing. I have replaced the gaskets with new material.
The seat is in superb condition with no tears or damage.
The frame. swing arm and body panels are in great condition.
The metal swing arm. footrests and side stand and all metal frame removable items have been sand blasted. etched primed and repainted to an original finish. They were in very good condition with only slight surface rust but this was part of what we wanted to do as our restore project.
The frame has only been wire rotary brushed in isolated sections and touched in as it again was in very good condition for age. It was found to be totally solid with minimal surface rust in just a few places.
The side stand all works as it should with the retract operation working when clutch lever is pulled.
The forks are in amazing condition with no pitting to the chrome stanchions at all.
The brakes and wheels are also in great condition front and back. The chrome on the wheels as expected has slight rust dots.
I have sand blasted the inside of the chrome mud guards as they were rusting from stone chips. The metal is still in great condition with no noticeable thinning or holes. The inside of these panels have been etched primed. black painted then stone chip paint applied.
I have had the tank professionally painted with two pack paint and had the decals re-made and applied. I would like to point out that matching the exact colour was very difficult and there is a slight variation which is difficult to notice. I think this was due to the original paint fading over time. Also the decals are very slightly shorter than the originals.
The petrol filler cap as I have found with most of these bikes had broken where the key goes. we have machined a new aluminum section to replace the original which opens with the key. Please note that it opens with any key shaped object so does not lock but works well.
The bike has a full years MOT with no advisories and runs out on 26th September 2015.
There are two keys with the bike and the original hand book that is in superb condition. The V5 in my name.
Please note that I cannot guarantee the mileage but the bike is in very good condition so does point to being accurate. The bike is sold as seen with no guarantees. I am not a trader so cannot take any part ex.
Please note: I do have the bike advertised elsewhere so I do reserve the right to remove it from the listing if it sells in the meantime.
