1982 Kawasaki GPZ750 R1 Mono Shock Cafe Racer

Up for auction is a 1982 GPZ750 R1 Retro Cafe Racer. This bike is the result of a two year project by a retired Kawasaki engineer. Every major component was disassembled. inspected. rebuilt and or replaced. Motor was stripped of it's top end. the lower end inspected. a valve job performed and the cylinders sized and honed. OEM piston rings and valve seals were installed. Forks. wheels and brakes were given the same treatment including new tires. wheel bearings and drive chain. Carbs were completely gone through. a jet kit added and many internal parts replaced. Bike is finished in Eddie Lawson Team colors and features a custom fabricated monoshock swingarm. The swingarm uses NOS forged aluminum sides from an early Kawasaki motocrosser. All welding was performed by a certified TIG weldor.  The pivot holes were line-reamed and use OEM bearings and seals. A CB900 single shock handles the suspension duties. Custom Caf?© Racer seat. rear set controls. a new Vance and Hines exhaust and clip-ons round out the cafe theme. Additionally. a rear frame loop was added under the seat for stiffness.

Engine was professionally tuned and road tested. This bike is a rider and not just a cosmetic restoration. There are some minor chips in the original frame paint and the instrument cluster shows signs of sun fading. All in all. it?ˆ™s a very well executed motorcycle.
