This iconic sports legend that is the 1980 Kawasaki KZ650B4 has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life ?ˆ“ the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to machinery than ours. This and the fact it's only showing 13664 miles and has been in dry storage for the last umpteen years have helped maintain its boyish good looks.

PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES. As you can see this bike is very nearly complete missing just the Mirrors. R/h side panel & Battery. The bike has obviously stood a while so the tyres & seat cover are perished. Sadly the rear indicator lenses are broken.

BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS. The bike is every bit as solid as it looks here. The wheels are straight with nice clean chrome rims. good hubs. brake plate. disc. caliper & working master cylinder. Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome. Mudguards are both solid & very tidy. Tail light assy is good as are the headlight & hangers. Instruments & switches look great. Fuel tank isquite clean inside. Exhaust system is original & solid. Seat base is in very good condition throughout. Chain guard is very tidy. Shox are damping fine. The engine is cosmetically very clean. when we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it a few squirts of ether it starts & runs but the carbs do need attention.

The bike is currently unregistered. The registration process is reasonably uncomplicated.

We have not got the American Title (Registration Document). we have only got the certificates from Customs & Excise to prove we have paid VAT & duty. these will be provided with the bike with the official V55/5 forms for 1st registration application.

REGISTRATION

1. You need to get the bike MOT?ˆ™d.

2. You need to prove the year of manufacture. Phone North Leicester Motorcycles on 01530 263381 with the frame & engine Numbers. for a small fee they will send you a letter confirming the age. Alternatively phone the UK importer customer services with the frame & engine Numbers. again for a small fee they will send you a letter confirming the age.

3. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number.

4. Take all this paper work to your local VRO (vehicle registration office). who will charge you £55 for the 1st registration & the current amount for the road tax.

5. The VRO will give you a tax disc with your age related registration number.
