1972 Kawasaki S2 350

For sale here is a 1972 Kawasaki S2. serial number S2F-05582 with the motor number S2E-05575. This bike has a build date of 6/71 and because of the frame/motor number combination. I'm going to say that it's a safe assumption that it is a "matching" numbers bike. The bike has a clear Pennsylvania title. The bike has been parked for 20 years. the last safety inspection was 1994. I've had the bike for about 6 or 7 years. planning to fix it up and give it to my friend's son. but it has sat in the corner of the garage and my friend?ˆ™s son doesn?ˆ™t want to ride. The bike is rough. but could be easily semi-restored or customized to make a decent rider. The bike is showing 1000 miles on the odometer. but the speedometer doesn?ˆ™t look in good shape and it obviously has a lot more than 1000 miles on. The 10000 miles I listed as the mileage is just because eBay requires a number in the field. The mileage on the title is wildly inaccurate as the title shows that the bike had 100. 46 miles on it in 1992. however since the bike was 20 years old the last time it was titled in PA. the mileage wasn't required. so the clerk probably just typed in some random numbers just to fill the field. I?ˆ™ve had that happen several times registering bikes here in PA. The bike has been wrecked. but not badly. The center pipe has some rash on it. the headlight bucket is cracked. the headlight ears are bent. the gauges are rashed. and the right side cover is cracked. The left side cover is missing as well as the points cover. The bike has been repainted. obviously. and the seat cover is a recover. it's fairly well done. but the color is horrendous. The floor of the tailpice is missing and was replaced (badly) with a piece of aluminum sheet. The bike has a fair amount of rust. but a lot of it will clean up. The handlebars will not clean up at all. the chrome is peeling off of them. I've never had the bike started since I bought it. but it was kicked over on a fairly regular basis. This past week I ran a scope into the plug holes and the bores and pistons look good. no obvious rust or piston pitting. It is on standard bore as the pistons are marked "std". I did not do a compression check or leakdown check on it. I replaced the points with new points. but didn't replace the condensers (the old ones are good. but the new condensers in the kit will be included with the bike). I sprayed a bit of fuel in the carbs. and kicked it over. It fired up. but fouled the plugs almost immediately. I cleaned the plugs. and it fired again and fouled the plugs again. I have not ridden this bike. so I have no idea about the brakes. The transmission shifts when rolling the bike. The gas tank is very nice inside. I?ˆ™m trying to be honest about this bike. This S2 is not a buy and ride bike. It needs work to make it rideable and safe. Paypal deposit is required within 2 days of the end of the auction.
