This is a 1-owner 1978 KZ1000 original survivor. From what I can tell. the only thing that isn't original is the seat cover looks to have been replaced at some point. The maintenance items such as battery and tires have been replaced. Everything on the bike works the way that it should. The bike starts up and runs great. It has normal wear and tear of a nearly 40 year old bike that has been ridden. It isn't a restored showroom bike. but is a very nice original example. The rear tail has a scrape mark. the right side of the tank has a little bubbling by the emblem. and the left side of the tank decal has come off in spots. Please take a close look at all of the pictures. all of these items can be seen. The original exhaust is in good condition. It has some acid staining on the right pipe and has some very small holes at the very back of the muffler. The tires are brand new and the battery is only a couple of months old.
The only thing on the bike that doesn't work is the left turn signal bulb that is in the instrument cluster by the speedometer. Also. I believe there is a starter safety switch that needs replaced. The starter works great. but it only works when you have the clutch lever pulled in. I just replaced all the seals in the rear brake. The carbs have been taken off and a light cleaning with carb cleaner. and all of the brass components replaced with new. The #4 carb seems to leak gas out of the overflow tube. It could be as simple as a stuck float or some debris in the gas is keeping it from closing. It doesn't affect the bike. it still runs great.
I have a copy of the original title from 1979 when the bike was bought. I put the bike in my name to make sure there were no issues with the old title. It is a clean and clear title in my name with "actual" mileage.
