THE BIKE WAS SERVICEABLE AND RUN REGULARLY WITH REGULAR OIL & FILTER CHANGES. CHEV PAID SOMEWHERE AROUND £1000 FOR THIS IN EXACTLY THE CONDITION IT IS NOW!THE 2ND BIKE Y209 UHK. WITH COMPLETE ENGINE WAS A PROJECT I SOLD TO CHEV FOR £650 TO USE FOR PARTS. THE ENGINE WAS FREE (BELIEVE STILL IS) AND BELIEVED TO BE RUNNING WHEN STRIPPED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER. THE BODY WORK FROM THIS HAS NOW BEEN UTILISED ON ANOTHER PROJECT WHICH WILL BE FOR SALE THIS SIDE OF CHRISTMAS WHEN FINISHED. KAWASAKI ACTUALLY HAD TO PAY INDIAN A SUBSTANTIAL SUM FOR THE RIGHT TO COPY THE SHAPE OF THE FENDERS. MPG ON THE 800 IS TYPICALLY ABOUT 56+MPG 2 UP DEPENDING ON SPEED. REMEMBER THIS IS A CRUISER. IDEALLY SUITED TO CURVING A&B ROADS BUT EQUALLY EATS UP MILES ON MOTORWAYS. AT MOTORWAY CRUISING SPEED 2 UP FULLY LADEN LUGGAGE MPG IS ABOUT 45-50MPG. IT IS ON MINE ANYWAY. I HAVE BOTH THE 1500 VERSION AND 800 VERSION OF THESE AND THEY ARE BOTH SUPERB BIKES WITH AN ELITE FOLLOWING. THEY ARE APPRECIATING CLASSICS WITH ONLY ABOUT 70 LEFT IN THE UK IN ORIGINAL FORM. MANY GET CHOPPED OR BOBBED NEVER TO RETURN TO THIS STYLE. CHEV LOVED THEM SO MUCH HE BOUGHT A TOTAL OF 5 OF THEM AND A HOST OF SPARES BESIDES. BOTH V5'S ARE PRESENT AND CORRECTLY SORNED. I WOULD BUY THESE MYSELF IF I HAD THE ROOM AND BUILD ONE OVER WINTER BUT 4 BIKES IN MY GARAGE IS ALREADY TOO MUCH. I HAVE NOWHERE TO STORE THEM AND CHEV'S WIDOW IS ABOUT TO MOVE HOUSE SO WE NEED THEM GONE. YOU BUY THEM IT'S UP TO YOU.
