1990 KAWASAKI ZZR 400

Up for auction is my 1990 ZZR 400 Kawasaki. I bought this bike in 2009 and rode it for a few years until I got another bike. It has been dry stored since January 2013 and I don't think I will ever use it again so its time it had a new home. The last time I rode it. it was jumping out of 4th gear occasionally under acceleration. It is fine decelerating and I just shifted past it to avoid making the problem worse. Probably needs the engine stripped and either a replacement gear or the dogs refaced.

The bike is a grey import from Japan and was registered in the UK in 1997. I have the original bill of sale from then along with a load of old MOT's etc. I have the v5 and the bike is currently on SORN with no MOT. Wheel bearings. fork seals. chain slider and caliper seals were replaced when I got the bike (although the caliper seals may require replacing again). The speedometer has been replaced with one from a ZZR600D (almost all parts from the 600D are interchangeable) to give mph readings. I still have the original kph clocks. Mileage is roughly 50. 00 miles. The engine has been started regularly since the bike has been laid up and sounds sweet. The bike also has a complete aftermarket Motad Nexxus exhaust system (??500 new) which has light surface rust which cleans off reasonably easily. Down pipes and silencer are sound.

Viewing is welcome with prior arrangement and there is no battery in the bike but I can start it with a booster pack. Bike will need picked up as the brakes have seized with sitting and the chain has seen better days.

Bike is located in Northern Ireland and I can deliver to either Larne or Belfast port for the cost of fuel and the bike must be paid for in full before transport.
