Description

This is a one of a kind find. A 1980 Kawasaki Z1 Classic that is new and has never been titled. 15 miles is what the odometer is reading and I can guarantee that to be correct. My grandfather was a Kawasaki dealer starting in late 1966 and did so until he passed in 2003. This bike was uncrated and told to put on display only but not to sell. We pushed around the building for 5 miles of its life. In 2004 after his death. the mechanics went to retrieve it from storage and had the bright idea to just service it up and ride it. It is as close to new as you will find but unfortunately does show signs of age from being moved around. I took a lot of pictures but if you need more on a certain area I will try and get them for you. The main issue it has is rust spots. primarily on the bare steel of the rotors. The brake masters both show corrosion and the back brakes have actually bleed down on pressure. There is a scratch on the tank and signs of possibly rust under the stripes on the right side. The inside of the tank has a dusting of rust that would easily clean with a chemical like Rustol. There is a few marks in the seat and some chrome flaking on the engine covers. You will have to spend a few thousand dollars atleast to make it perfect again. I would like it to go to a museum or private collections as it is doing it no justice sitting in my garage where no one an see it. Please ask questions if needed. i Have the original MSO and owners manual for this bike. The MSO is still in my grandfathers name. No one was made executor of his estate but in TN I can get a clear title with just a notorized bill of sale but that will take a few weeks to get back.  I would prefer cash in hand but depending on the circumstances may accept other payment but that will have to be discussed and agreed upon before bidding. Don't bid and then ask if ill take your money order. the answer will be NO. ask about payment first. Payment to be made within 7 days of auction end or a no payment claim will be filed.
