My ZX12R now needs a few bits doing that I might not have the time to fix so I'm putting it up for auction and I'm not interested in any swaps wink wink. It's the unrestricted A1 and I'm the second owner. The PO tells me it walks away from GSXR1000's at 180 but I suppose they would be restricted to 186 anyway? Whatever it's fast!I commute on her 100 mles a day from Hertfordshire to The City and I cant fault it. at 210kg it's not that much heavier than the current liter bikes well thats what I keep telling myself anyway! I have recently fitted a refurbished pair of original and correct Tokico 6 pot calipers that are brilliant! (see my other items for the bike's original calipers for rebuild) In the photo - which is from April - you see the 2 pot Nissin calipers which were fitted to her. I will probably be auctioning those soon as well. I service and look after bikes myself and I always see to anything it needs immidiately. the only things this has needed is servicing and tyres - it's even still got the original chain and sprockets which are still in fine condition. So the problems are as follows: Knocking from forks when breaking and front discs worn. I recently had the discs trued because of a vibration under braking but it's still there - I know. nbsp; strange. but I think possibly the knocking fork leg (only happened yesterday) has something to do with the vibration under braking? I'm thinking I don't have the time to do this job so it should appeal to you if you can easily fix these items because it's an excellent bike in perfect working order. just taxed and MOT til April 2015. Please call Steve for more info 07833 990 638Would be interested in a 955 Triumph or early R1. Blade. GSXR. but needs to be MOT'd ready to go. Ideally want something with full fairing. even a SV1000f could be good
On 16-Nov-14 at 16:11:21 GMT. seller added the following information:UPDATE - I've had a look at it. It is one disc warped ever so slightly and head race bearings causing the knock - forks are OK. So the discs is causing the juddering feeling under breaking. I've just put 160 miles on it no issue at all save for the braking feel but it's essentially fine to ride home etc. I will be doing my normal 100 mile a day on it this coming week. I removed the wheel and ckecked the fork legs as best I could then refitted the wheel without calipers and spun it up. I then offered up a spare brake pad by hand to feel for any uneven spots and there is definitely a spot on one disc that you can feel as it spins. So. to summarize the bike requires new discs and head race bearings. Plus I have taken pictures. Although I cleaned it. the rain started straight after so it is wet in the photos. I have also found the compression adjuster on the rear shock just spins - it is set on the maximum. Mileage is actually 45. 00 - I always leave it on trip meter so hadn't checked actual mileage until now. The silencer has a black mark which is actually from my textile bike pants they melted a bit but I'm sure there are products that will remove this easily.
