2001 Kawasaki KLR 650 "adventure ready"

 2001 KLR in excellent condition. I purchased and set up this bike for my son who decided he wants a sport bike so I'm selling. I have been servicing this bike since about 2004. My brother purchased it from the dealership and kept it a few years. Then. a friend of ours bought it from my brother and kept it a few years. I serviced the bike for both of them so I know that it was never crashed or abused. I have always serviced with Amsoil and just this spring did the following:

Changed oil and filter

Flushed coolant and replaced with engine ice

New spark plug

flushed brake fluids

adjusted cam chain tensioner

Installed Thermo-Bob system for better heat management. If you're not familiar. see (www. watt-man. com)

Replaced battery (Deka ETX 15L)

Since Purchasing bike from friend about 1 year ago. installed following accessories:

Renthal fat bars

Cee Bailey windshied

Military panniers. I purchased the bag mounting system and then purchased and fabricated Military Ammo boxes as panniers. They are quick release (no tools required) and can be taken off and installed in less than 1 minute. The panniers are water proof and top loading (see photos on and off bike)

When I purchased bike from friend he had protection rack installed (see photo of rack next to bike). I removed but will include it with sale.

I lowered the bike for my son but still have the stock dog ears and can return bike to stock height if buyer desires.
