     Bike is on a center stand for display only and located in western NY state     This is a nice used 1976 KZ900 LTD recently removed from a 25 yr. hiatus with just under 19. 00 miles. I have installed a new battery. adjusted the valve clearances. rebuilt tac drive and both master cylinders with oem kits. installed nos sprockets with new chain. serviced the steering neck and swingarm bearings. changed the oil. clutch cable and installed an nos air filter. This bike starts. runs. rides and stops nicely and was clearly well cared for by the original owner who I bought it from. The engine runs smooth and quiet as well as the transmission being tight and crisp with no leaks aside from the usual minor seepage found at the exit of the alternator wiring. The vintage pattern tires ride fine. but are beginning to show their age and should be replaced. The only item not correct on this bike when I received it was a set of long stem Z1 mirrors and I have installed a correct used set of LTD mirrors. This bike was an absolute pleasure to work on - the only rusted bolts found were holding the voltage regulator to battery box base and even the master cylinder bores were perfect. Frame numbers issued to the public began at 5000011 making this bike number 1500 of the well over 5. 00 produced. There are close to 20 unique single year parts found on the 76 LTD versus all other B models through 1980.   The carbs were drained when the bike was parked and are in mint condition. but the gas tank was left full of fuel and is a mess inside; so a clean replacement tank has been installed and the original is included in sale. The factory Classic Red paint has minor scuffs and storage patina with slight fade; but no major scratches or dents. There is one rub mark through the paint on the tail as seen in pics that is hidden by the seat. but for 38 yrs. old; this body is in pretty awesome shape. The bright chrome parts are nice with minor storage wear and the original seat with early white vinyl battery vent hose sticker has two small flaws in the cover as seen in pics with a clean solid base. The Morris mag wheels are clean and straight with no marks from tire changes. The frame has some paint loss as a result of a thorough cleaning and the only area with any real rust is seen in the lower half of the battery box. I have installed a new set of the closest known replica mufflers made by Jardine and the originals are included with the bike. The 1976 only (for LTD) air box and silencer are in very good condition as are the carb boots. All of the electrical wiring is nice. the charging system is very healthy and with the exception of some gauge cluster lights; everything works as designed right down to the turn signal buzzer.     >>>>>>>>>>>>> Ebay no longer permits direct external links in descriptions - there are 50+ detail shots of this bike found on my site kzkrazy. com in 'Memorabila' section <<<<<<<<<<<<<   I think this bike presents well as is for good rider quality. but if you wanted to do a restoration on one; this is the type of bike you would want to start with as every nut. bolt. washer. grommet and cotter pin on it is what it came with from the factory right down to the original head light bulb. The only thing done to the engine cosmetics was a good soaking with WD40 and hot steam cleaning. There is a very nice owners manual that was in the rear glove box and one factory key that operates all 3 locks on the bike. There are absolutely no signs that this bike was ever damaged or abused in any way. It is a true 70's survivor muscle bike assembled in Lincoln. Nebraska that will continue to appreciate in value if taken care of or improved upon.
