There is a reason that Ricky Carmichael started on a KX 85.

That statement alone should be enough for you to think this is the bike for you or your youngster.

In 2014. Kawasaki created major updates for the small bore KX 85 and 100 models. Included in these updates for the KX 85 are a plethora of options and factory modifications that improve ride quality. reliability. power. functionality. and adjustability.

For 2014 the KX 85 noticed a 20% gain in peak output. Yes. TWENTY percent gain. That's quite a leap forward. Combine that with the 6 position adjustable handle bars. a flatter and more comfortable seat. and better ride height allow for that power to be ergonomically and comfortably controlled. With KYB inverted front forks with compression damping adjustability. rear KYB reservoir rear shock with 24 position compression and 21 position rebound and step-less pre-load adjustability allow you to transfer the added power to the ground and maintain the traction to take you from podium to the next. No one likes the word maintenance unless you are a masochist. and with Kawasaki's KIPS valving and a single ring piston. maintenance is greatly lowered. And push yourself and this bike harder and farther now thanks to it's 50% larger radiator. more capable of cooling down the more potent power plant.

So it's a brilliant Motocross bike that was designed to look like it's big brothers. capable of pulling away from the competition. and do it comfortably. Can't think of a reason that you or a young one wouldn't love this.
