'78 KTM MC5 250CC Motorcycle

I believe this is a '78 KTM - frame #:85509734 - Motor #:18034. I have owned the bike for 10 yrs in my KTM collection. Down-sizing due to getting married. Purchased from original owner. Front tire is brand new (Metzler Uniacross). When the tire was put on speedo drive the goes on the front hub was lost in the former owner's garage. This bike originally came with speedometer and headlight which was added as option from KTM. Although speedo drive is missing I have the original complete speedometer cable and speedometer is all complete on the bike with low miles.. Back tire is also Metzler - good thread but sides starting to get some dry-rot. Bike runs awesome - great compression. Original bing carburetor. Brakes and suspension in good working order. Newer repro seat cover. Also has a brand new rubber exhaust mounts. Carburetor to air box boot replaced with factory one. New throttle cable fuel lines and fuel filter.

This bike also had added spark arrestor tip that can also be removed which is super nice and expensive.Front fender was replaced with new old stock Preston Petty Tony D front fender. Have original Preston Petty front fender - nocracks.Header pipe is in great condition also has beautiful ktm gas cap along with the gas tank that is also very nice with duel petcocks. Bike has awesome patina front Preston Petty headlight missing plug on back of light and wire comes with beautiful vintage leather tanktool pouch there is also tools in the tool pouch and tow strap.. Bike has all original decals. Bike does need a good cleaning. the fuel is CAM 2 you don't want to put ethanol in these tanks

I am not an expert on KTM's - so do your research - this is a rare find!
