Description

Dirt Rider called this the fastest 125 ever tested in '84 and that was an understatement. 34 HP at the crank according to KTM. Advanced porting. Extremely light. Suspension was ahead of its time also. Preserved for you. Perhaps this is one of the top survivors of its type in the world?

Basically original 125MX/SX (some people feel it's an MXC). with one partial rebuild (cylinder replate. Wiseco piston. clutch plate. seals. etc. ) by Gresham KTM in 2006 (previous owner).

Maximum 10-12 hours since then riding jeep trails with my granddaughter on her TTR90. The KTM barely even warmed up. but it does scream when you get on it.

Pics can be zoomed with mouseover or go to full res with click.

Modifications are minimal and limited to a Boyesen RAD Valve. Spark Arresting Muffler. Aluminum Bars. Wide Foot Pegs. Clamp-On Side Stand. Authentic KTM handguards. and recently installed 520 Chain and Sprockets. Original KTM MX silencer is included also. to be shipped separately. Appears to have been used minimally. The original magnesium clutch cover was replaced with the non-corroding aluminum part in 2006.

Rare Owner's Repair Manual copy is included. actually covering all aspects of maintenance -- motor. suspension. and frame. with specifications. This was provided to me by the great Helmut Clasen. ISDT Gold Medal champion from Canada. an authority on these bikes and then some.

Bike starts easily and Dell'orto carb and Motoplat ignition work perfectly. Extra main jet included. Runs fine on pump premium at 44:1 mixture. Yes. the Dell'orto is oxidized a really cool color if you're into exotic alloys.

Although it doesn't really show up on the pics. there is some yellowing of the tank at the bottom. but thank goodness it is not painted over like many. There are KTM decals in place of the missing tank badges -- but they look good and have stayed in place for many years.

Frame paint is original except for some touch up on the bottom rails.

Rear fender is painted with a plastic-compatible white paint with a flex modifier.

The side panels are original; not reproductions. Same with seat and cover.

Air filter is aftermarket.

Original tires were replaced only due to sidewall cracking. They weren't badly worn.

The "Dirt Bike" magazine shown in the photo is NOT included -- that is just a pic of the magazine cover off the net.

Clear Washington State title in my possession.

I will make the bike available to a shipper at my residence but am not able to crate or deliver to a dock (many require a customer fork lift). If tie-downs. etc. . are required I can procure them and provide to the shipper but the purchaser will have to pay the cost.

PLEASE ONLY BID IF YOU ARE SERIOUS AND INTEND TO PURCHASE THE BIKE.

Thank you for your interest.

We have had two no pays on previous listings. Please don't do this. Only bid if you fully intend to complete the transaction. A no pay of this magnitude can seriously affect your credit rating. (The seller does receive the buyer's identification and street address for reporting). We will be happy to extend the 24-hour Paypal deposit requirement a reasonable amount if the buyer requests.
