KTM 550 DXC BIG BORE 2 stroke

1992 KTM 540 DXC big bore 2-stroke. Claimed to be the most powerful and fastest production dirt bikes ever made . They produce 65-70hp and are capable of over 100MPH.If your looking at this listing then you probably already know what these big bikes are all about.
Same motor as the MXC 550 ( 548cc ) and parts are still available through Bike Bandit -- Cheap Cycle Parts etc..Super smooth bike and ready to ride. Motor is very strong with great compression.
These big bore KTM's have a great reputation for being very reliable and bullet proof. Bike always starts 4 - 5th kick cold (once the big bore two stroke starting procedure is followed) Put it in 3r, ock it back and forth 8 times, ull chok, ick as hard as you can at TD, nd walla. Brapp - Brapp - Brapp... once warm 1 kick at TDC. Bike has really nice suspensio, WP USD forks up front ( no leaks ) and just had the WP rear shock rebuilt . Comes with lighting coil and harness for headlight and taillight installed. Bulbs don't last long due to the vibration of these animals so be fair warned . Tires, hain, procket, rakes and controls are all in good usable condition.
Fresh plug and gear oil .. New clutch cable .. Note: Clutch is grabby on these things right from the showroom and require periodic adjusting but once warmed up their not bad. Apparently the CR 500 plates fit so definitely a cheaper alternative when necessary.
I replaced the impelle, mpeller sea, mpeller shaft bearing and counter sprocket seal as these are common items that need attention on these bikes. Graphics are new and very close to OEM,
I am in the process of solving a small drip .. drip at water pump housing with a fresh gasket due any day. Bike has the Keihin PWK carb installed which is a better all around carb for these bikes when compared to the OEM Dellorto. Great throttle response and no bog!!
These big bore two strokes are getting to be very hard to find in good condition but once you get one they will walk all over your friends brand new$10,000.00 KTM 500 four stroke.....
NO TITL, ill be sold with Bill of sale - Can be registered in most states without title as it is over 15 years old... Bike is in CT and I will assist your shipper if bike is being pickup....
