I am selling this nice Lambretta LD125 project. It is a French built bike that dates from 1956. There was a Factory in the town of Troyes near Dijon during the 1950s where scooters were built under licence from the Italian owners. Almost all parts are interchangeable and freely available from specialists in the UK. Fortunately this bike is almost complete. just missing the chrome decoration pieces below the seat and a couple of cables
It is in very sound condition and is totally rust free. It benefits from a rebuilt engine and is almost totally complete. The bodywork is extremely straight and original.
I purchased this bike from a motorcycle mechanic in Auxerre who had rebuilt the engine but left the bike as found cosmetically. I have not started the engine but it has loads of compression and turns over really well on the kick start. The whole engine is spotless and has obviously had work done recently. All the consumables. plug. askets etc are new. There is a box of odds and end with the bike.
The man I bought it from had owned to for a number of years and done plenty of mechanical work. He then put it in the lounge of his house as a decoration and left it in its original cosmetic condition as he liked the look. He has now moved to a flat and had no room for it.
When purchased it had just the riders seat but I have sourced a passenger seat in reasonable condition and a rack that is tarnished but not bent or broken so could be rechromed or painted. The spare wheel is with the bike. The pillion seat and rack have just been placed on the bike for the photos.
I have the makers plaque for the bike that shows the serial number as 3745. I also have the certificate from the ffve in France showing the year of manufacture as 1956. This is the French equivalent of a dating certificate from the vmcc in the UK. If you wanted to register the bike in France this will get you a log book with just a couple of forms and copies of a passport and a utility bill for a French house. If you want to register the bike in France I am happy to do this after the sale if needed for the cost of the log book (about ?35). If the bike is to stay in the UK I will supply a certificate de cession and full receipt to enable you to do this.
The scooter is already in the UK in the Worthing area of West Sussex. Viewing is no problem just phone my friend Malcolm on 07803086765 to arrange a time.
The scooter is advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Any questions please call Malcolm as he has the bike in his workshop. We can store the bike for a reasonable time as long as it is paid for. Delivery is possible please email or phone for a price.
