Description

Lambretta GP200 purchased fully restored from A F Rayspeed in 2012. Imported by them. it was originally manufactured in 1975 by Scooters India Ltd

I wanted the Lambretta to look as close to an original GP200 as possible but have the power for long distance touring without compromising any reliability.

The original engine was a brand new SIL GP200 later converted by A F Rayspeed to a Classic Rapido 225 for the beginning of 2014. Upgraded with an ASSO piston and RB Race Crank conversion to give it good high speed cruising capabilities. The overall gearing was optimised for lower revs at motorway speeds (Final drive 4. 8 using 19/46 sprockets) and it was fitted with a 48mm clubman exhaust to increase bottom end torque but keep the bike looking standard.

The Scooter was carefully run-in as per their instructions and has now covered 1500 since the conversion. It pulls easily from low revs and takes hills in its stride. even two up!

Original tyres have recently been replaced with Michelin S1's with Puncture Safe tyre sealant.

The Off White paintwork looks very similar to the original GP colour of "Hawthorn White" (which I always wanted to buy when they came out in the late 60s. but didn't have the money at the time!). The overall condition is excellent. nbsp;it has covered a total of 2700 miles so does have the odd small scratch and stone chip. The underside has been treated with a combination of Waxoyl and ACF 50 to keep any corrosion at bay.

MOT and TAX runs until July 2015. nbsp;under the new tax rules as the Lambretta is 40 years old this year it will be classed as an historic vehicle and so be tax free from next year.

All the paperwork is available including V5 in my name. British Lambretta Archive dating certificate for 1975 and Invoices for the original purchase and Classic Rapido 225 conversion.
