Up for auction is this amazing Italian Lambretta Li150 from 1960. This scooter has had a full nut and bolt restoration the key elements of which I have detailed below:
I imported this Lambretta in 2012 and then began a painstaking 15 month restoration. All the original Italian frame and panels were reused. as were the headset components (light housing. gear changer. control rods/wheels etc). panels were in quite good shape and were hand finished and prep'd before being painted. All parts used were Casa Lambretta where possible and no cheaper SIL/Indian parts have been used at all. All fixings are stainless or chrome.
The loom and electronics were upgraded to 12v using BGM & similar quality parts along with the addition of an ignition switch.
The engine (the original Li150) was upgraded to 175cc using an AF Rayspeed matched kit. and has covered around 400 miles faultlessly ?ˆ“ so is still running in. All bearings. seals. clutch. chain etc were replaced during the rebuild. gears were in excellent condition and were kept. I have replaced the exhaust with a great sounding Casa twin trumpet (matching blue & chrome) which finishes the engine perfectly.
Continental Whitewalls were used on the wheels (including spare). The front hub was replaced as the original was the weaker type so no issues there in the future. Original seats were vapour blasted. painted and re-covered to match the colour scheme.
All the 'Mod' extras including; crashbars. Florida bars. wheel carrier. front rack and lights are a mix of period and good quality reproduction and really give this scooter the ?ˆ?WOW?ˆ? factor. I am constantly stopped and asked questions about the scoot. so the winning bidder had better be prepared to become instantly popular at every stop! :)
The set up can be modified easily to DC (currently running AC off the stator) as the loom allows for the addition of a battery (I have one) and separate wiring could be added to power some of the additional lights from that source ?ˆ“ a pretty simple process to sort out. which I intended doing at some point.
The matching helmet will not be included in the auction but everything else is up for grabs. This is a fantastic Italian imported Lambretta that has had no expense spared on its build ?ˆ“ it owes me a small fortune so someone is going to get an awesome piece of history that will only increase in value over time.
The V5 is in my name. registered in 2014 as a 1960 150cc with the correct age related plate ?ˆ“ it flew through the MOT in Feb and I'm sure it will do so again.
The scooter can be viewed in Banbury OX16 by prior arrangement. That said. you are bidding to buy it . ot come and look at / try out etc. so please only bid if you have the funds available to buy at the end of the auction. Bidders with a feedback score less than 10 or from outside of the UK should contact me before bidding.
I reserve the right to end the auction early. as I have this advertised elsewhere. I will only accept a bank transfer or cash on collection and the scooter will not be released until full funds are cleared into my account.
Thanks for looking and happy bidding :)
