Montesa Cota 349 Trials Bike 1983

Hi and welcome to the sale of my Montesa 349 Cota.

I purchased approx. 2 years ago from a gentleman who had bought the bike back in August 1984. rode it once and then put away in his garage. It was in poor cosmetic condition when I bought as the garage was not the best! I have since restored the bike to a useable standard. frame was powder coated. tank sprayed but has since started to slightly bubble. which is hardly noticeable on the photos. the small dots are rain as it never stops raining to take the pics! Looking back I should have just left. or sealed the inside of the tank.  All chroming was done including the re-plating of the nuts/bolts. alloy parts polished including rebuilding the wheels with new spokes after the rims were polished.

It does look well but not concours and I believe the mileage is genuine due to the components having little wear and the fact it had stood for approx. 28 years. I still re-chromed (hard) the forks. fitted new wheel bearings. lip seals etc etc!!! I have all the bills and invoices. original photos of the bike before restoration and history from the DVLA. It would suit a collector or someone who has a genuine interest in owning a Twinshock. The rear shocks were rebuilt from the originals and all decals sourced to keep it original. the Robinsons logo on the fork legs are original and were fitted by the supplying dealer back in the 1980's.

 The bike has an original lighting kit with it which I have not fitted. the switch part looks brand new as it had sat in a box in the loft.

If you are genuinely interested then I would expect for you to view prior to making a 'best offer'. ask me any questions via ebay. the bike runs very well. starts usually 1st or 2nd kick and has a lot of low down grunt. it has a new style V5 with its original number. It has no MOT or TAX so will need collecting with a suitable vehicle.

Frame and engine numbers match as per the V5. it has the original trialling number plate fitted to the front. road plate (flexy) to rear. Also has the original Montesa (bagged) tool kit which was issued when new.  Cash on collection is fine.
