Description

I need to turn my beautiful new Moto Guzzi Griso into cash. This is the limited edition SE with the Tenni paint treatment with a Fender Eliminator. It’s quite simply the most beautiful motorcycle ever made. IMHO. and many believe it to be the best Guzzi ever made. I The Moto Guzzi Griso SE is a special edition of the venerable Griso. set off by beautiful Tenni paint reminiscient of Guzzi’s racebikes of the 1950s. The SE got several extras. including spoked wheels. the beautiful paint and brown leather seat and blacked out frame and engine. Mechanically. you also got adjustable suspension. and giant Brembo brakes – this bike is an interesting balance between the style of a custom with the components of a sportbike. I’ll try and describe the riding experience: you’re smiling as you walk up to this thing with its muscular lines and sumptuous colors. The matte green with black frame and wheels are set off by the beautiful brown seat. You swing a leg over it and the saddle and handlebar are just where you want them. you’re not leaning too far nor are you sitting back on your tailbone. Turn the key and the Griso logo flashes. the needles start dancing and you press the starter button just for a second. it starts pulling to the right and it starts its low rumble. Normally you need an aftermarket muffler to make such sweet sounds. but Guzzi got the sounds just right and the look of the muffler: the aftermarket ones are lighter but I honestly can’t understand why anyone would want such a beautiful objet d’art sitting idly by. unless it’s on display in the living room. The clutch pulls in easily and the gears engage smoothly and snick through without any hitches. but with just enough engagement to let you know you’re still on a Guzzi. The steering is light and neutral and you don’t notice the shaft drive at all. though I’m sure if you’re a serious racer type you might. As an older. mature rider. the bike is incredibly stable and secure in almost every situation. But not if you grab a serious handful of throttle. The pulling power: clich? alert. but this thing will yank your arms out of their sockets. 110 horsepower and 80 ft/lbs of torque at a little over 500 lbs wet weight doesn’t even tell the tale of this 8V engine. It’s super hard out of the gate and the longitudinal crank rolls the bike to the right at low revs. disappears at speed. but you do NOT want to screw up a high rev down shift. It’s just a hoot to ride because it’s such a monster. The thrill is taming this beast. But the smile it puts on your face as you walk up and walk away is the only thing that tops the riding experience. Only 6927 miles. I bought it from a MC shop in Tennessee and had it shipped and registered in California. I had the 6600 mile service done which included valve adjustments and threw on a new set of Michelin Pilot Fours along with the replacing the rear fender (original fender comes with the bike). I have receipts for the recent service and sale includes the service manual and owner’s manual. All original except for the Fender Eliminator. This should surely be a collector’s item. Guzzi only made the Tenni version in 2012 and 2013. While the other color schemes are smart. the Tenni is breathtaking. If I could wheel it into my living room I would. as it is I often park it outside my bedroom window and stare at it before I put it away for the night. This is starting to sound a little creepy. but if you’re the kind of guy that likes to sit in his garage and look at his bikes then you really need one of these in there. it’s the best put together bike ever. Bike is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. so use the Buy it Now button if you really must have it. If you'd like to have a local mechanic check it out before you buy. that's fine. but I just had a full service done and could send you a copy of the receipt and notes if you'd like.
