Hi and welcome to my auction for a 2005 '05' plate Moto Guzzi Breva 750 ie. It has done under 21. 00 miles and has a full MoT. I am starting the auction at what I believe to be extremely good value for this bike - there is no BuyItNow - I always leave my auctions to run to the end - there is no reserve so the highest bid will win the auction. Have a look at recent completed sales to get an idea of potential value - a Cat C one with damage and parts missing sold just before Xmas for more than my start price!
I bought this bike 4 years ago from Balderston Motorcycles BMW Dealer in Peterborough when it was showing 20. 57 miles - I have done less than a 1. 00 miles since then and it's time to admit that as much as I love it I don't need it - hence it's for sale. I have two keys one of which is the all important 'red' key. I have the service booklet and handbook.
If you are looking at this advert then I assume you know something about these bikes. Compared to a 4 cylinder sports bike they are very low powered (50bhp) but also very economical (approx. 50 mpg). comfortable and easy to ride. It is only a single disc front brake. however. like the rear. it has a Brembo gold caliper as standard which is more than adequate with excellent feel and bite. The shaft drive makes maintenance and cleaning much easier than a chain drive. There is a Givi Monokey top-box frame and base fitted - I have never had a top-box but there is a wide selection on E-Bay if you want to buy one.
Guzzi's of this era (it is 10 years old) are renowned for a poor finish on chrome and alloy/powder coated parts. The exhaust headers. headlamp rim and mirrors show the worst signs of corrosion - I have tried to display this in the photos. Two years ago I partially dismantled the bike adding new tyres (Pirelli Sport Demon). new forks (yes. really. new) and painted the footrest hangers. wheels and differential. I used several coats of specialist wheel paint and lacquer - it's far from a perfect finish but looks OK from 5 paces away and has kept further corrosion at bay. The paint on the plastic side covers is worn - another known fault on these bikes. One of the exhaust cans has a slight rattle at idle. Being an air-cooled v-twin you can hear all the mechanical sounds from the engine - most unlike a water-cooled four. It smoothes out when revved. however. it is never as smooth as a multi-cylinder engine. There are lots of reviews on the Internet so if you haven't read them yet it's a sensible thing to do.
It has Service history to July 2010 at 19. 00 miles (only 1. 00 miles ago). Last year I changed the spark plugs (NGK Iridium). nbsp;oil. oil filter and air filter using genuine Guzzi parts (apart from the oil) and balanced the throttle bodies. The fast idle cable needs replacing. however. not having it does not impact starting or running - having said that I don't use it in winter so if you intend to do this it might be worth you replacing it.
The bike has been SORN in my garage since October '14 and plugged into a trickle charger (not included in sale but negotiable). I pulled the bike out this morning for the MoT and it started first time! There are no advisories on the MoT - it sailed through - not surprising given the lack of miles since the last MoT. The bike has never let me down but to be fair. as you can see from the mileage. I haven't really used it much - mostly on short trips with my daughter riding pillion (she is not pleased I am selling it).
As you can tell from my E-Bay history I am an honest private seller and I pride myself on the feedback I get. As such I welcome anyone interested in winning the bike to come and see it at my house in Westcliff-On-Sea. Essex before the end of the auction. I like to think that I am wise to most of the underhand 'bidders' on E-Bay so please don't waste my time. genuine bidders time or your own time trying it on. I will and do report any suspicious activity. Bidders with a feedback score under 6 please contact me before placing a bid - I will remove it if I have not heard from you.
The offer is there for you to view before bidding so if you do bid. you are bidding to buy. not to come along after the auction and haggle with me. You will simply be wasting your time and I will either relist or offer a 'second chance' to the next highest bidder. Cash on collection from my home is preferred. Alternatively you can pay in advance by PayPal.
If you have any questions please contact me through E-Bay and I will do my best to answer them for you.
Happy Bidding.
