Description

Where to begin with this bike. I race(d) with AHRMA for many seasons. I think I bought this Guzzi 5-6 years ago? I had intentions of racing it in Heavyweight vintage but at the time I was racing modern twins. The folks I bought it from raced her with AHRMA. Maybe someone out there recognizes her? The Stan's name on the tank should give you some insight that this machine is very well sorted. Anyway. as the years clicked by. I continued to focus on racing modern twins with AHRMA. I retired from racing this February. I'm selling the long list of machines that I have parked in my building. I don't remember any of the particulars about this Guzzi. except that it's a twin (which I love) and it qualified for Heavyweight status. With the help of a Guzzi expert out of Seattle. this is what we know:-1977 frame. as evidenced by the VIN label. -1990s era California motor-Changed to carbs & distributor ignition-Gas tank looks to be LeMans III-Fairing is T5As long as I've owned it. I've never raced it. I did however start it every month. and continue to do so. When you have as many bikes as I do. you have a ritual to make sure all the bikes are maintained. If you notice in the pictures. the hole where the factory starter goes. I have a setup that is wired to the starter and an automotive battery. I simply insert starter. pop on a moto battery. as I believe it's a total loss system. crank the system once the circuit is complete and remove the starter. It sounds incredible. shifts smoothly and handles like a dream. Please remember though. I have never had her on track pushing the edges. The bike is safety wired and contact glued in the appropriate spots to pass technical inspection for racing. I listed the motor at 900cc. as this is the size that the California model motors started at. It certainly isn't the 1400cc version of late. Has it been bored and stroked? Don't know. You can see the former owners hyroglyphics on one of the covers in the photos. Aluminum rims. steering stabilizer. Avon tires (these should be replaced). Brakes work very well. Tachometer is the only instrumentation. And yes. please pardon the Suzuki seat. it is really comfortable though. Mileage. unknown. I put that number in the mileage box to get the auction live. I've seen these go for a lot of money on Ebay and places like that. I've seen examples of these done up by what I'll call custom builders. into some of the sexiest looking bikes around. And. it's race ready. and it's an amalgamation of different Guzzis. The next owner can figure out what to do to her. As I said earlier. I'm retired and am trying to seel all of my race bikes. before I think about it too long and decide that they will make great "projects" down the road. Having said that. this is a true no reserve auction. Winning bidder is responsible for shipping. I will take a video of me starting the bike and see if I can post that or a link to this auction. If I can't stick a link in the auction. I can email the video upon request. PayPal please for payment. If you must use a check. it will have to clear before shipping. And cash in hand is always appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to look and to read. ******Forgot to mention that the bike is for sale locally too. If I get a reasonable offer here at home. I will end the auction**** e
