Up for auction is my 1973.5 Eldorado 850 with 18384 original miles numbers matching frame & engine. I am the third owner. It is titled in my name & has current tags. It has spent it's entire life near Tulsa OK and changed hands amongst friends since new until my purchase a little over a year ago. This 1973.5 model is equipped with the rare and desirable four leading shoe front brakes. It also has the Amal carburetors which from my understanding were used while Dellorto was on strike. This cool old Eldorado is also equipped with Harpers High Output Electronic Ignition (the parts alone are $329.00) Harpers solo seat Tourmaster Saddlebags that are very well made of heavy duty fiberglass in Tulsa OK up until the 80's I believe and have been with this bike since new and are in very good condition. They have about twice the storage capacity as the Wixom bags. DB floorboards and comes with an almost new windshield and Harpers Eldorado civilian windshield mounts. The rear luggage rack was built by the previous owner and he did a pretty good job. Even thought there is patina on the tins I don't believe I have seen one single dent on any of the metal parts. This Eldorado rides and shifts well. It could benefit from a change to the Dellorto carburetors in my opinion. I am not sure if the cylinders have been sleeved but looking in them with my borescope I could not see any hint of chrome cylinders and have not seen any flakes in the oil screen when changing the oil. The only item I can think of that doesn't work is the tachometer although these original gauges are some of the nicest I have seen with only slight fogging on the speedo glass which I caused the first time I washed it. Avon tires are have good tread with some weather cracking on the front rear is fine. Mufflers have holes in the bottom. I ride it about once a week. Below is a list of what I have added to the bike along with maintenance completed:1) Carburetors rebuilt including jets and floats direct from Amal.2) Front forks cleaned with new seals and fibre washers.3) Oil transmission and final drive fluids all changed in the last 200 miles.4) Added passing lamps5) Added Lucas turn signal replicas to closely match originals.6) Refinish dash to the correct wrinke finish.7) Added K&N filters since the Amal rubber adapter to the original air box is no longer availableIf you have any questions feel free to call me at 314-348-4990.
