Up for auction is a rare and beautiful Fire Red 1998 Moto Guzzi Centauro Sport . I am the second owner of this beauty and has been meticulously maintained its entire life. Cosmetically the bike is in excellent condition. The paint shines like new with minimal light nicks here and there and some minor swirl marks. The two white stripes on the windscreen cowl are vinyl and can be easily removed if desired. Unfortunately early on in its life the bike did suffer a minor slow speed tip over in a parking lot due to cold new tires. The damage was minor and was isolated to a rashed muffler valve cover and slightly tweaked handlebar. All damage was repaired except for the valve cover which only suffered light rash. I decided to replace the damaged sport bars and risers with standard Centauro bars because I preferred the look and feel of them over the sport bars.
Mechanical the bike is in excellent condition with no known problems. Fluids were changed at their recommended intervals and valves were adjusted at 6k and 12k miles. The cam belts are original but I recently inspected them and they still look good with no dry rot as far as I can see. The bike has just over 13k and is currently off the road in storage so it will remain with those miles. The bike runs and shifts as it should and has never left me stranded on the side of the road. The bike is completely stock mechanically with no fuel injection mods so it does suffer from the well documented surge. There are many aftermarket products out there to cure this problem but the surge was so minimal that it never bothered me enough to mess with it. I did follow the procedure of setting up the throttle potentiometer which made a huge difference in the way it ran. I have some extra parts that I started collecting along the way that will also go with the sale. These parts include a stock seat stock header pipes and collector.I am sad to see her go but it’s time to make room in the garage for something new. I’m sure I am forgetting something so feel free to email with any other questions Happy Bidding!!
