1974 MOTO GUZZI – Ex California Police Bike. NOT RUNNING-- SOLD AS PARTS BIKE

Also a 30 year collection of spare engines, xtra frames, heels, nd a mountain of additional parts.

Here is the story of this bike and parts.

A local Car and Motorcycle collector passed away 3 years ago. He was 83 years old and had an extensive car collection.

His wife held an auction and I purchased the bike and his entire Motoguzzi inventory on August 8th 2015. The bike I transported on a trailer and the frames, anks wheels and boxes of parts filled the entire bed of my full size Ford f150.

His wife told me the bike and parts have sat in the corner of the work shop for over 30 years. He started working on it about 1980 then lost interest and worked on hot rods and old Harleys.

I am not a Moto Guzzi guy but I am a gearhead guy so here is the info I have found on the bike and parts. There are too many parts to list individually but I will try to list a lot of the main parts.

The Bike –Ex California Police Bike--– The fork head badge says

The Carbs are Dellorto – VHB 29C.

It has Borrani wheels WM-3/2.15-18/40

It has the police headlamp assembly with all the switches and lights. It also has a fiberglass cowling with windshield. The bike appears pretty complete except the oil pan and timing chain cover have been removed. I found 2 timing chain covers but I could not find the oil pan. One of the extra engines has an oil pan that looks right. I put a wrench on the crankshaft nut and the engine turned over smoothly. The engine is not stuck. It appears he was getting ready to rebuild it.

There are 2 new Gilardoni cylinders still in the box that I believe he ordered for this motorcycle, oto Guzzi V7GT-T3.. Part # - RIGB0024L--- Diam-.83

The wife could not find the title but is sure he had it 30 years ago.

The Parts inventory.

2 Frames that I think are Ambassador frames. One has the rear hub and Borrani wheel with the direct drive shaft.

2 Ambassador Gas tanks- Very straight condition.

2 New Gilardoni Cylinders with new head gaskets still in boxes.

2 used cylinders – 3 heads one with valve cover

2 spare Motoguzzi parts engines.

1 Transmission.

3- Borrani wheels and tires and an extra tire.

A complete set of Dellorto Carbs VHB-29C with cables and hand throttle.

2 Headlight assemblies with wiring harnesses.

Fenders. Kickstands, ool boxes, oot pegs and tons of fork parts Boxes of small parts, oxes of electrical parts.
