Moto Guzzi upgraded the 2013 Moto Guzzi V7 Racer which draws inspiration from the caf? racer motorcycles of the 1950s and 1960s. The new generation is equipped with a more powerful, 50cc, 0-degree V-Twin motor which puts out 50 hp @ 6200 rpm and 58 Nm of torque at 5000 rpm. The engine is combined with a smooth five speed gear box and a new 22 liters fuel tank which ensures a range of up to 310 miles. While maintaining the classic 90° V configuration, he engine is now comprised of more than 70% new components. After the upgrades, he engine provides greater torque and power even at low rpms, nd is also more efficient.
The V7 induction system has been completely revised, oing to a single Y-shaped 38mm throttle body that splits into two 36mm runners, ach with an individual injector, eading to larger valves. The single throttle body inhales much cooler air than its previous counterpart, hanks to the relocation of the airbox to a more rational and efficient position. The result is more efficient filling of each cylinder through the whole range of usable revs, tarting from as low as 2000 rpm. The V7 has also received new lighter, tronger pistons sporting thinner, ow-friction rings, nd a vastly redesigned Heron-type combustion chamber that bumps compression ratio from a too-mild 9.2:1 to a more credible 10.2:1. This required larger fins at the heads and cylinders for increased cooling, resulting in a stronger look for the whole unit. More importantly, he revised V7 delivers performance that I would definitely describe as much more rewarding, ven beyond the Moto Guzzi-issued numbers of 51 horsepower at 6200 rpm and 42.8 foot-pounds torque at 5000 rpm.
