Description

For sale is my Guzzi Breva 750 with some useful extras: functioning heated grips. a Givi monokey rack. tall screen and a second re-upholstered seat with additional padding. It is in fair condition. with good service history and reasonable miles on it. It starts runs and stops without any issues and has an Optimate charging lead fitted. I'm the third owner. and have owned the bike since April 2013. Prior to this it was owned by a Cambridgeshire gent who bought it when it was six months old. so it's not been handed around and traded like some bikes. The book is stamped in Aug 07 at 817 miles. Aug 08 at 5423. Apr 10 at 9798 and Aug 12 at 14489. So pretty regularly serviced and consistently used. In my ownership I've changed the filters. plugs. engine. gearbox and final drive fluids buying the oil and service kits from Gutsibits. The fork oil was changed and the valve clearances checked and adjusted this April at Chippenham Motorcycles. The bike is due a service and this will be carried out over the next few weekends. the air filter and plugs went in today. alternatively I'll include the fluids and parts required with the bike. The bike had a new battery last June and a new rear tyre was fitted in November last year. Cosmetically its a bike of two halves: the usual Italian quality issues are present in that the lower part of the hangers are losing their finish as is the rear bevel box. and the mirror stems and headlamp surround are rusting. The tank and other painted panels are pretty damn good with no damage. just some minor evidence of luggage having been strapped on. You could go two ways with this: either replace the chromework and have the hangers re-painted. or just live with it as it has no mechanical faults. The original seat has suffered from the hot weather we had this summer and the surface is now slightly sticky. fortunately I have a second seat with more padding and which is in perfect condition. This is visible in one of the pictures. I traded down to this from an FJR1300A. which was quite an adjustment to make losing nearly 100BHP and two cylinders. but my daily commute had dropped from 70 miles to 18 and I just wasn't using the Yamaha. This bike is such an easy one to ride and live with I've used it for work pretty much half the time. using my car mostly through the winter. and the bike mostly in the summer. In addition to commuting I use it to fetch my daughter from London. which is a four hour 200 mile round trip. The Guzzi copes with this reasonably well. though the original seat was uncomfortable after a couple of hours. whereas the alternative seat makes the four hour trip bearable and the screen does a good job of keeping the wind off you. This is a really practical small motorcycle which I think can be ridden on an A2 licence (the V7 can and that has the same engine). having the heated grips. screen and rack make it a usable light tourer - there are plenty of tales of two-up tours on the forums. It's for sale because I fancy a change and now is the right time for someone looking for a winter bike. If it doesn't sell I will ride it until March and re-advertise it then. Feel free to ring me about this bike. I've been up front with the images and description. It's no good advertising a bike like this as perfect when it clearly isn't. but there is nothing mechanically wrong. I did the London run on it on Friday 3 October. and it is only the shorter evenings and colder weather that mean that it probably won't make that journey again until the Spring. The mileage shouldn't change much as it does a max of 90 miles a week on my commute. It's a great bike for either a Guzzi lover to improve cosmetically. or for winter use.
