Moto Guzzi 1000s Endurance Race Special 1992 Final Edition. Le Mans Commemorative
This is a fully faired 1000S with wired Akront alloys It cost £9K new in 1992 . One of three if not the only one in the UK. which will be a great investment now.
The others all had bikini fairings only. in the half "le mans style fairing". It took all the best elements of Le Man Racers and sought to create a machine to compete with the MV Augusta of the time. These bikes were bright red from the factory and is not a black or green bikes painted. It came this colour from the factory

Full fairing and Akron light Alloys . 100/90 V18 Twin 40 Dellortos Front Guzzi Spring adjustable Preloads. Rear Konis. Front Bitubos I has the tuning developed for the Le Mans 1000 introduced in 1984. but with B10 Cams the 1992 version fits the square-fin 949cc twin with a dual-point distributor. 40mm dellortos and the B10 camshaft. 10:1. 0 compression ratio. 86-HP @ 8000 rpm was claimed by the factory.

Bike was generally as new except was not wonderfully stored these last few years :
Currently having service. new fly screen (cracked by adjoining bike resting on it) . new battery (leaked on starter ) new starter motor. general clean down and will be as new. The R/H side panel has a paint flake and we are undecided whether to repair See Photo .

THE MOTO GUZZI RACER
The last of the sporting Tontis. the retro style fit the fuel tank and side covers from the early 80s. From there Guzzi mixed special 1000S-only items like the seat. taillight and fenders. Retaining the 28-degree rake Tonti engineered into the original V7 Sport. the 1000S uses a Guzzi-built 40mm fork. updated (starting with the Le Mans 1000 SE in 1987) with Bitubo dampers. The rear suspension units are Konis. All versions use the same five-speed gearbox. Another upscale feature. the factory issue spoke wheels (2. 15/2. 5?ˆ? x 18?ˆ? are from Akront. Le Mans 1000-carryover 270mm front discs are probably better brakes. Now commanding the highest overall price of any Tonti-framed Moto Guzzi. the 1000S is moving away from the collectible scale and into the investment category of MV Augustas . The big valve '92s are worth more. but few are passing up the chance to buy. regardless of version.
