1993 Moto Guzzi Daytona 1000

Everyone I know has wanted to own a Guzzi at once in their riding career or at least ride one. The Daytona model was a technological mile stone for Moto Guzzi and an iconic motorcycle representing the Italian Motorcycles uniqueness of the late 80’s and early 90’s. You did not just own a motorcycle. you had a passion for it. You bought Italian because it was the essence of fine motorcycling with all of it’s quirks and idiosyncrasies. It was not ownership. it was a cultural experience. Better yet was having a sympathetic competent dealer to keep you seamlessly enjoying the experience.

This 1993 Daytona 1000 was bought by its owner brand new from Freeman Cycle in Beverly. Mass. one of the best known and respected Motorcycle Dealers of the era on the East Coast. The predelivery inspection report is lengthy and detailed. In fact. they almost completely disassembled the chassis to check torque values of hardware. fork alignment. known mechanical issues supplied by the factory from new that were resolvable by care and attention to assembly. It is mind blowing that a dealer would go to all of this effort just to make the bike right for their customer.

The buyer was very unhappy with the changes regulated by the DOT for the legal importation of the bike in 1993. He hated the large square head light and the black faced gauges. Before taking delivery. he had Freeman Cycle convert the headlight to the European specs which included the head light assembly and upper fairing. He also installed a set of white face Veglia gauges which only came reflecting Kilometers. not miles. The distance on the bike from new is 7. 26 kilometers or 4. 27 miles. The stock parts that were replaced are not included with the motorcycle.

Everything on the bike is stock including the Stage 2 Moto Guzzi upgrade kit. The original tires were on the bike. but were just replaced out of safety concerns. All of the fluids have been just changed by the owner and a new battery installed. The bike was stored in a pickled manner and just recently fuel added to demonstrate it’s mechanical condition. The bike is ready for what ever direction you go. static display. track day toy or just for the joy of riding one of the Italian classics from a time past. These days are gone for good but their motorcycles stay to remind us of where we have been. What a joy.

There will be no questions asked. after your inspection at our shop. if you do not like the vehicle. Payment is due in full after 7 days.   The vehicle cannot be picked up until funds have cleared or prior arrangements have been completed.

Shipping quotes should be from 97526 Grants Pass. Oregon to where you are. Please. do not use fly by night shippers. We try to offer clean vehicles honestly and to see some loon strapping a car. bike or motor home to an open trailer with bald tires is heart breaking. I can assist the shippers. but that will have to be ordered and paid for by the winning bidder. We cannot accept personal checks.
