A rare and in some people?ˆ™s eyes. desirable. East German two stroke classic.

A genuine barn find but not by me. the previous owner found it on a farm and got it running and I have done nothing since. So. as I have not been bothered to try and start it it is being sold as a non-runner! The engine does turn over with good compression and the gears engage. the cables are nice and free although I am told the tachometer doesn?ˆ™t work. I can?ˆ™t verify that of course. The odometer shows 14718 miles

The paintwork is faded and scratched but everything is there. it has an ignition key but no key to the left hand side panel. The inside of the tank has rust and needs cleaning or sealing. The chrome is generally not good. in some instances it has been painted. please have a good look at the photos. The seat is in pretty good order and it still has a hand pump in place under the seat! These came with alloy rims as standard and chrome plated spokes. The rims are nice but the spokes have surface rust. they have been painted in the past. The tyres have good tread but are at least 20 years old so would need changing. The rack and top box are nice period pieces.

It was last taxed in 1993 so is a bit of a survivor and certainly ideal for restoration rather than spares. There is no documents with the bike but a DVLA vehicle check shows it on the computer and last taxed in 1993 which matches the disc on the bike. The bike is in Kennington. London SE5 and would need to be collected and paid for in cash ideally within a week of the auction end. it will come with a key and a receipt!
